How long to dry before 2nd application? And how long to dry before it can be walked on?

Asked by: Calita
Allow the first coat of Rust-Oleum Restore 4X Deck Coat to dry 4-6 hours. Extend the dry time if the surface is tacky or soft. Drying times vary depending on temperature and humidity. Apply a second coat using the same method as applying the first coat. Allow the second coat to dry for 24 hours before light foot traffic and 3-5 days before replacing furniture. If the surface is tacky or soft, extend the drying time before putting heavy objects back in place.

I won't be able to apply my recently-purchased gallon of this product until after our rainy Pacific NW weather improves, but I have used it in the past and commended it to both Home Depot employees and my friends, so I was a bit bummed out to see that it is no longer carried in Home Depot stores. If this is because of some unfavorable on-line reviews, we should note that Home Depot's own replacement product has received some similarly unfavorable reviews. I'll stick with the product that I know has worked well in the past--RESTORE.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rust-Oleum Restore 4x good for one year My 15 year old deck looked in better shape than the deck used in promotional materials. Warning: This is not a weekend project. We spent 60 hours just prepping the deck which included pressure washing, sanding, wood filler, and nail work. THe bottom line is that the deck got through one summer and two winters before the material started peeling off from the deck. I would have been better to buy trex deck and reboard the deck floor with it.
