Zero VOC's and a low odor make it a great choice for almost any indoor application. Easy to maintain, lasts a lifetime while still looking fantastic.

I have ceramic tiles in my bedroom. I wanted to paint the marble paint on top of it. Is that okay or will i have to break my tiles ?

Asked by: Jlo561
To help prep the ceramic tiles for Rust-Oleum RockSolid Marble Garage Floor Kit, the surface will need to be cleaned and diamond ground to help ensure proper adhesion. You will not use the etch provided in the kit.

Hello: We already coated our floor with the marble white, however, the temperature was too hot and the floor cured too quickly, ripping out some of the roller - so we need to redo our floor. What recommendations do you have for us to properly prep our floor for REAPPLICATION? Thank you.
Asked by: flycc1
Uh oh! In order to recoat Rust-Oleum Rocksolid Marble Floor Coating Kit we suggest sanding the affected areas with 60-80 grit sandpaper to smooth any imperfections. If the coating has dried for over 7 days, the entire floor will need to be scuff sanded for best adhesion of the new coating over the existing coat. Otherwise just the areas you need to smooth out. Once the floor has been sanded, remove sanding residue and wipe down with MEK. Once the MEK has flashed off, you are ready to recoat the floor!

I saw this used on a table top and on an island/kitchen cart. Also on a small apt. countertop. Is this ok?

Asked by: Georg
Rust-Oleum Rocksolid Marble Floor Coating kit may be used for applications to interior horizontal surfaces, such as countertops, tile floors, wood and laminate surfaces. Please keep in mind, the coating is not designed for applications to surfaces with direct exposure to food. Be sure to use cutting boards, and potholders/trivets to also protect from high heat.

We had carpet and tile in our apartment, and due to a flood, decided to do away with it, instead of replacing it. We were going to simply stain the concrete, but the concrete was in very, very bad shape. Holes everywhere from the carpet tacks, and the holes and edges of the concrete were crumbly and disintegrating, so we needed an option that would hold the concrete together. The epoxy idea was recommended to us because it has a "self leveling" factor that will fill in the cracks and holes. We had no idea it would have such a cool look on the floor. The preparation is a real job - took us three days to sand, prep and wash (and rewash) the floor - a real undertaking. The application itself does not take that long, however, we found that pouring the epoxy on the floor and rolling it out was easier than taking the epoxy from the paint tray. We used more than a "clean" floor would need, because our floor was in such bad shape, but the outcome is totally worth the cost of the extra product that we needed. One of the construction workers who came to work on the apartment even commented on how cool and interesting the marble effect was on the floor and wanted to know what we did and if it was difficult. My answer to him - if I can do it, anyone can.

It looked more to me like I put a really thin uneven coat of white onto the grey cement. Coverage amount was consistent with what they said it would be. Maybe if the put some type of reflective fleck in it it would look more like marble.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pretty good for price Compared to paying for a professional epoxy floor, this is an awesome option. However, the instructions could be a little better. My floor ended up with bubbles. We followed the directions exactly, but some research revealed that the bubbles were probably because we were too aggressive with the paint roller (no warning against this in the directions). Also, for the advanced coatings, like marble, it would be nice if rolling techniques were included to achieve different looks. I think I could make it come out much better if I did it again, but don't have the time or money to try again.
