does this prevent the rust from reoccuring?

Asked by: Dirico
Yes, Rust-Oleum® Specialty Appliance Touch-Up Paint is a quick dry lacquer designed to provide a long-lasting, high gloss finish on repairs to metal, porcelain, and appliances such as stoves, refrigerators, washers, dryers and dishwashers. This washable, moisture resistant finish is designed for the exteriors of these surfaces. Do not use on surfaces exposed to temperatures over 200°F (93°C) such as stove tops. Not for use in sinks, tubs or other water immersed surfaces.

Can it be used to touch up a discolored toilet seat?

The toilet seat was discolored yellow in some spots by bleach.
Asked by: Ashley
Great question, Ashley! Rust-Oleum Specialty Appliance Touch-Up Paint provides a high gloss finish on metal, porcelain, and appliances such as stoves, refrigerators, washers, dryers and dishwashers. It is not recommended for surfaces that are constantly submerged in water. If using on a plastic surface, we recommend using a primer. Try using Rust-Oleum Specialty Plastic Primer Spray. The appliance paint may be suitable for use on vinyl if the surface is not too flexible. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-Specialty-12-oz-Plastic-Primer-Spray-Case-of-6-209460/202058455

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than competitor products Tried another product before this one. The other product was 3x the price and didn't match color. It was an off-white. This product was easy to apply, dried quick, and matched the color of my porcelain sink.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect color & texture match & LASTS! I got this cheaply from Home Depot & I use it to touch up EVERYTHING! Tile, tubs, appliances, toilets! I especially appreciate the ease of application & bottle lasts a long time. I got one in white & also in bone colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked fine even in the bottom of a toilet bowl. There was a chip or manufacturing defect in the bottom of a toilet bowl. I drained the water, dried it with my wife's hair dryer, applied the paint, then dried it with the dryer. Works fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Holding up well I used this white appliance paint to "touch up" the peeling paint on my old Iron tub. It has held up quit well. And the color difference was hardly noticeable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works but looks blue on white tub. I applied this two years ago to a chip in one of our tubs. It has held well, and was easy to apply. The only negative was it says it is white, but it looks blue against our white tub. A little blue spot is better than a chip in the tub finish, but I was expecting it to be white.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks better I had a beautiful white powder-coated aluminum surface with an ugly abrasion on a corner, with metal showing. Ugh. Decided to give this a try. It was in stock, it was priced OK. It's in a white-out bottle with the little brush inside. Nice. Shook it well. Dabbed it on. Waited, dabbed, waited, dabbed. It took 3 coats because it was on a vertical surface and sagged a little each time. It looks far better than it did. Someone else said this paint is blue. Well, it is, kind of. It's a blue white. My base paint is a true white so the patch is visible, by virtue of being a faintly bluish white, but it's close enough that most wouldn't notice unless you pointed it out. By the way, the picture shows this as epoxy paint. What they sell at HD isn't. It's no longer says Epoxy, which is different than the picture. I wanted epoxy.
