I used this to refresh my 1960s bathroom vanity countertop. Cleaned the top completely then slowly applied the countertop paint. You need good ventilation when applying it as it has a strong VOC odor. Also, be sure to follow the instructions carefully to get the best results. I did so and was pleased with the initial result. It appears to be an even coat and at least so far has not chipped.

My horrible bathroom laminate countertop is better than new again after using Rustoleum's Countertop Coating in cobblestone finish. It's so gorgeous now. The old countertop never looked this great even when it was new. The cobblestone finish is warm and neutral, true to the color shown on the box. It's the perfect complimentary backdrop for an undecided tile backsplash I plan on installing this year. The coating is a special gel-like mixture that once applied with a high density foam roller actually levels and melds itself together, blending beautifully without the worry of brushstrokes. After protecting the surrounding area with Pro Mask Blue Bloc-It painters tape, I worked quickly rolling on the countertop coating before the hardening agents set up. My small bathroom countertop took about 20-30 minutes of time to apply the coating and used between one-third to one-half of the 32 ounce container. A second coat may be applied after 24 hours and I'm going to do that tonight because I love it so much and want the extra durability of two coatings. I'm so impressed how self-healing this countertop coating is and how easy it is to get amazing looking countertops. It works on other surfaces such as wood, metal and vinyl, so after putting the second coat on the bathroom, I'm going to use the remaining amount on a shelf that needs updating. I would love, love, love to do another countertop coating for the faux butcher block countertop in the kitchen.

Used this product approximately a year ago. Extremely poor quality. Shows water stains. But if you rub them really hard they will disappear in a while. More small chips are found every day. I waited for it to dry more than the allotted 3 days and still found indentations on the counter. There are so many chips on the counter now that I either have to replace the counter or repaint it with a regular satin finished paint. This paint's finished product is no where near what is promised. Just to clarify there are no children in this house and only two grown adults who are extremely too careful. So, can't blame the kids! Just an extremely poor quality countertop paint. Don't waste your money or time. Wish I could have given a better review.

We read the reviews prior to using this product and new that the application was a delicate process. With that in mind, we approached the application with the utmost care and preparation and purchased the highest quality rollers and brushes.
It was disappointing and the product was extremely finicky. We ended up doing five or six coats before it finally looked good enough to call it done. Even then, we weren't thrilled with the finished product but at least it made the countertop look more contemporary.
Don't overwork it the product, don't sand the product between finishes, even if you let if harden for a week. Apply it fast and thick with high-quality tools and you may succeed very well.

I used this paint on my work bench in the garage. Lasted about 6 months and it started to chip in spots. If you want to change the color of your counter top you are better off just buying a new counter top.

WE HAVE A SMALL BUDGET THIS YEAR SO WE WERE LOOKING FOR IDEAS TO REDO THE KITCHEN COUNTERTOPS. THIS PRODUCT FROM RUSTOLEUM IS THE BEST! YOU CAN CHOOSE THE COLOR THAT YOU LIKE AND THE APPLICATION IS EASY. LOTS OF VENTILIATION REQUIRED. WE ARE USING THIS PRODUCT FOR ALL OF OUR KITCHEN COUNTERTOPS.

I've waited to write this review for over a year, and it's been worth the wait. I originally used this Rustoleum Counter Paint last spring, but wanted to write a review AFTER putting the paint to the test over the course of a year in my kitchen. And in my opinion, this countertop coverup is, in a word, wonderful!
It has withstood a year of my kitchen antics without a problem, and in the process has saved me the ton of money it would have cost to replace the original 1962 custom-designed counters.
Rustoleum offers quite a variety of colors in this specialty product, so you should have no problem finding a color suited to your kitchen decor. I went with the cobblestone, feeling it gave my kitchen a "classier" counter.
Prior to applying the paint, I checked out a few videos that are posted online, to glean any tips before tackling this project. Once ready, all I had to do was properly prep my counter for the painting (prep is everything when painting), and wait for a period of several days when I knew I could leave the kitchen windows open, to dissipate any fumes from the enamel.
The paint, whether applied by brush or roller, goes on smoothly, and I was very pleased at how evenly it settled to a smooth flawless coat. Though really anxious to get back to using my kitchen, I resisted the urge and gave the Rustoleum ample curing time before I resumed using the counters.
I've dropped utensils on it, thrown bags of groceries on it, spilled stuff on it-- you name it, I've probably done it. And the counter looks the same. No stains, no chips, nothing-- it still looks great.
I highly recommend this paint for anyone who wants to update their counters in a cost-effective way.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Scorc Poor results
The paint color (taupe) was just right. I used the pain in my master bathroom. But, I followed the application directions and the results were not smooth. I used a foam roller brush and the roller tracks were visible in places. Since the edges where I used a regular brush looked better at first, I used a brush for a second coat - still poor results. I applied a third coat with the foam roller. Not smooth - roller marks are visible as well as brush marks where the roller wouldn't fit. I can only think that the images I saw of perfectly smooth countertops were because the paint was applied with a paint sprayer. From afar, the countertop looks good, but close up - not good. The directions were to let dry for 3 full days. I waited 4, and put my stuff back on the counter top. My blow dryer left a mark, so I moved everything back off to wait more days. Very disappointing results. Spraying it on would probably work better but that is another cost to either buy or rent a paint sprayer.
