Answer:
Rust-Oleum Glitter Spray Paint is a decorative paint that is not designed for large flat surfaces. We also do not recommend applying spray paint indoors. For these two reasons, we do not recommend applying Specialty Glitter Spray Paint to a wall.

Answer:
Skeeter, yes, Rust-Oleum Specialty Glitter Spray Paint will fully cover the surface, leaving the color underneath hidden. We recommend spraying a light first coat to get desired effect.

Most all glitter paints should be clear-coated in order to protect the glitter. The type of clear coat you use will depend on the material being covered, and the look that you want. Therefore, it will be up to you to choose the proper clear coat for your purpose. Most all glitter paints should be clear-coated in order to protect the glitter. The type of clear coat you use will depend on the material being covered, and the look that you want. Therefore, it will be up to you to choose the proper clear coat for your purpose. I have found various clear coat products in close proximity to the spray cans of glitter paint in Home Depot, so the search is fast and easy. You can choose to use Gloss or Satin clear coat spray, or any of the quart cans of varnish-type coatings, such as MinWax Helmsman, or Varathane Spar Varnish.
Packaging a can of clear coat along with the glitter paint would certainly be convenient. But, it may not be the best clear coat for your purpose, and would therefore not be cost effective. Read Less

I'm wanting to give a slight sparkle to some natural colored canvas or burlap. Will the paint adhere to the material without making it stiff? Also, what is the fire rating?

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 15 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't waste your money The first issue is the coverage. You will need numerous cans to complete your project. Secondly the nozzle get clogged up right away and solvent doesnt help. They need to make the tube and hole big enough to accommodate the glitter. Such a disappointment July 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful sheer of glitter, not opaque like cap this glitter spray worked absolutely beautifully for my child's wood name letters. In person the cap is super silver and opaque so I was worried it would be too silver. It is actually pretty clear and you have to add several coats to get a silver color. But it worked out for me cause I used baby blue as a base and wanted silver glitter which is what this helped me achieved. So if you want an opaque silver coat like the cap of the can you probably have to do like 10-15 coats. But if you just want a nice glitter overlay or thin coat it can be achieved with like 3-5 coats. So easy to use and after it has dried completely the glitter hasn't transferred and still looks pretty. I love it and would definitely buy again. April 10, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not "full coverage" I debated between buying this product and regular metallic spray paint to paint a desk organizer. I decided on the glitter because it said "full coverage," but it does not provide color, only glitter. I need to go back and buy the regular metallic, too, just to get the coverage I need for the project. If I had known this, I would have made a different decision. It is beautiful, but not what I wanted. February 18, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Lots of Shine I've spray painted many items and have used some metallic sprays. However, I never had tried glitter spray paint before this. I wanted to spray a frame for my daughter's room. I anticipated the frame would be silver when I ordered it but it was more of a gunmetal gray when it arrived. I thought the spray paint would lighten it up. When I first began spraying I was a little nervous because the coverage didn't see very good. However, after a few coats it was fully covered and glittered and I'm pleased with it. I would say that it is important for your item's base color to be in the family of what you are applying the glitter spray paint to. I almost seemed like a clear coat filled with glitter as opposed to silver paint with glitter mixed in. I'm excited to try this product again--I think it'll be good for craft projects where you're looking for a little shine. June 17, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Glittery! I used this item to add some sparkle to a craft project. It went on evenly creating a beautiful professional look. Bottom line is that I was very happy with the results and highly recommend this stuff! February 8, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy way to bling anything This paint does not have a base color, so you must paint a color first, but it works well, I used it over black and I like it, easy to control the amount of glitter from just a pinch to full on glitter with the push of a button. Just be aware you will have glitter everywhere after you use it. August 11, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Silver glitter, not silver paint An interesting effect can be brought with this glitter paint. It goes on as spray glitter, not completely covering the object being painted as is done with regular paint. For complete coverage, use several thin coats. Otherwise, the material runs. June 21, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice This paint goes on beautifully and I chose Rust-Oleum because I needed it for something I keep outside. I have always been happy with Rust-Oleum products. I don't think you can beat them. They are tried and true as far as I'm concerned! I love that it is glitter too. The sun hits it and it is really pretty. June 12, 2013
