If I were to use this product on a shower door, would I apply it to the inside or outside?

I would apply it to the outside.

Can this be removed easily?

I live in a rental so removal upon move out would be ideal.
Asked by: Pixie
On glass, yes, just scrape off with single edge razor blade. When you apply it, mask off all areas around the window so you don't get any over spray where you do not want it. Basically think of it like spray paint.

Ventilation is a must as it has an enamel odor and the overspray will cover much in the area you are working on. I used it on a closet window and after taping off the frame and sill, I had no real way to ventilate and to fan out the overspray just spread it about the open room. The finished look was spotty as even coverage is very difficult unless more than several applications (+4). It looks it from the street as if it was a home remedy. Go with a frosted tinted film.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Endless frosting possibilities Rust-Oleum Specialty 11 oz. Frosted Glass Spray Paint works great. I have used the frosting film (Artscape, 36" x 72"n Etched glass decorative window film, model #01-0122) on several windows around my home without knowing that there was a spray option from Rust-oleum. I have been wanting to do a pattern on our clear glass front door but kept putting off because of the detailed labor involved with cutting and aligning the frosted film. The Rust-Oleum Frosted Glass Spray Paint was the perfect solution. Rather than cutting the film and trying to line everything up, you can use masking tape. Two light coats provided a very nice privacy finish. The provided pictures show my test panel to determine the final design. Home Depot also offers the spray paint in single cans (I think model#190383) which is a steal!

You have to hold the can just right and at the perfect distance and angle in order to get an even coating. It's extremely difficult if you want the glass to look like it was made that way. It works much better in a small application. I used this on small window panes (about 12 inches by 6 inches) with good results. Then I used it in a large application (windows about 2 1/2 feet by 4 feet) and it just didn't work. The coating is not nearly even and no matter what method I used, I got the same results. What's worse is some of the windows were glass and some were plexiglass. The plexiglass windows kept building up some sort of static and it was actually repelling the paint. It was a total nightmare. I attempted several different methods to fix this problem and nothing worked. In the end, I ended up using sheer curtains to cover up the spotty paint job.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very easy to use, looks great We needed this to cover the two 6-9 inch windows on each side of out front door. These windows were too narrow for a blind. We thought about covering it with some fabric, however we wanted to let some light through while providing some privacy. This product did exactly what we wanted. We sprayed several light coats on to get the desired privacy while balancing the amount of privacy we wanted. Although we did not do this, one thing we thought about after the fact is we could create some designs in the window by masking a design, when we pull the tape or masking area off, we could have added another layer to achieve the privacy, light and a design. Works just like spray paint. Another thing we thought about is putting some areas on heavy and some lighter so it looked like clouds. Options are only limited by your imagination. Over all product did exactly what we needed it to do and at a very low cost and very fast compared to other options.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprised Me! I wanted a frosted look on a couple of small eyebrow wondows in my backyard Bike Garage. For less than $4 I thought I'd give this a try. Sprayed on easy in two quick coats and I was impressed on how good it looked. Let's light in but you can't see what's on the other side...Like motorcycles and tools.

As other reviewers have mentioned it does leave a fine white dust everywhere. I would not recommend this for large solid areas of frosting as I was never able to get 100% consistent coverage. It is good for a making a design.

Do wish the frost was a bit heavier / more blocking for my application. Tried multiple coats but didn't seem to have much effect. Seemed like successive coats just melted the prior coats. Maybe if I had applied MANY coats, but I only bought 1 can.
