I am wanting to put on existing glass on kitchen cabinet doors. Can it be washed, especially the cabinets doors by stove.

Asked by: DlBo
For what it is worth, we used Windex on glass that had been treated with this, and it started to wipe off.

I used on plexiglass and it worked fine although I don't know whether Rust-Oleum supports this use.

Just like the can said, in 10 minutes the frosted look appeared. It still lets a good amount of light in but i looked in from the outside and i couldn't tell what was in the garage. great stuff.

I followed the directions, shook the can the specified amount of time, sprayed 12-16 inches away with even, slightly overlapping strokes. The real problem was the uneven spray coming out. I made sure the nozzle was clean and clear, yet droplet splatters occurred during each of the 3 coats I tried. In the end I removed all of the frosting and am probably going to try a different solution. Kudos to all who managed to get a nice looking frosted window using this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Endless frosting possibilities Rust-Oleum Specialty 11 oz. Frosted Glass Spray Paint works great. I have used the frosting film (Artscape, 36" x 72"n Etched glass decorative window film, model #01-0122) on several windows around my home without knowing that there was a spray option from Rust-oleum. I have been wanting to do a pattern on our clear glass front door but kept putting off because of the detailed labor involved with cutting and aligning the frosted film. The Rust-Oleum Frosted Glass Spray Paint was the perfect solution. Rather than cutting the film and trying to line everything up, you can use masking tape. Two light coats provided a very nice privacy finish. The provided pictures show my test panel to determine the final design. Home Depot also offers the spray paint in single cans (I think model#190383) which is a steal!

I've used this product three times, I've never been able to make it look even, and just now in the last 2% of my project it spat out a huge glob onto my glass table, ruining everything and wasting about four hours of my time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cheap way to get frosted glass look This spray paint offers a cheap and effective solution to obtain a frosted glass look. I used it to spray our shower door as you can see in the pictures. My objective was to do one "band" at the right height to block the view of my 3 year old daughter who often walks into the bathroom when I'm showering! Our master bathroom has double doors that cannot be locked so this was my temporary solution until she understands she can't just walk in! I taped the surroundings and sprayed the area in about 2 minutes. I did two coats while wet and did not need any coats after it dried. I was not able to maintain a consistent distance from the glass and I felt that in certain areas I was closer than 10" away so I ended up having an inconsistent application and a couple of drips in a certain area. You cannot see them in these pics but during daylight they are obvious. It's not a big deal in my case as this is my first use of the product and this is a temporary solution that I will remove in a year or so. Also be warned that this spray creates a dust cloud and a very strong odor so ventilation is required and preferably use a mask when applying! I used our air purifier on the highest setting and also switched our two exhaust fans and kept them ON several hours to clean the air!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Added privacy Great specialty paint to have around. I used this on a mirror to add a distressed/antique look by lightly spraying and wiping off in the main area. I later came back and tried to clean more off with window cleaner and t came off pretty easily - noting that clean up on the painted surface is a delicate issue. I then used this to paint glass panels on a french door which is now being used for a guest room. In order to add privacy, this spray created an even coat of frost that turned out great and provides privacy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's okay. The spray worked well with an even finish, much like regular spray paint. And it does give a frosted appearance to the glass, as stated. But it's more of a paint than a film, and it scratches easily. In fact, I can scratch it completely off with my finger nail. I think this would work in special situations, but it's just not durable enough to hold up to everyday use. It can't be cleaned without damaging the finish, although its opaque appearance will probably disguise dingy glass.
