I was wondering the same thing. I usually buy most of my stuff at Home Depot, but I don't want to buy 6 cans of something that I might end up not liking as much as I'm imagining.
I'm not affiliated with Menards at all, but their website says you can buy single cans there (at least the one near me).

Great question Ale. Most products are sold online in case quantities for shipping purposes. We recommend contacting your local store for availability of single cans of Rust-Oleum Specialty Metallic Spray Paint.

Answer:
You can, but it is highly recommended you use a primer rated for the tile first so that it will bond properly.
Without it, the metallic paint can and will flake and chip off easily over time.

Answer:
Rust-Oleum Specialty Metallic Spray is not recommended for plastic or Styrofoam surfaces. The product will cause the foam to potentially denigrate and will not adhere to plastic.
The good news is that we do have product for your plastic surface! Rust-Oleum Universal Metallic will work great. Take a look at the link below for more

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very metallic copper Some of the best metallic copper spray paint, ever. Smooth, even coverage and a great color. June 28, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by looks like copper, but spray leaked While I really like the look of the finish there are some definite cons about this product 1. not being able to buy just one can 2. the can i used of the 6 leaked. that ruined the finish of the tiles I wanted to look like real copper I tried sanding them and respraying but it ruined 4 of the tiles 3. need to purchase special top coat spray if whatever you're painting gets wet. May 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great for hardware and detailing Used this in our kitchen to paint all of the cabinet hardware and window hardware. Turned out beautifully. February 3, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Color does not match as advertised Assuming that the Can top resembles the color of the paint I bought this product looking for a true metallic copper finish. The color sprayed before clear-coating is a gold finish not copper. August 21, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Coverage This spray paint is bright and festive. It is a little more orange than I would have liked but still looks good! June 18, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Spray Paint Magic This copper spray paint is magical. It covers like a dream and turns every second-hand find into a truly fantastic piece. The spray nozzle doesn't stick. I love this product. March 11, 2014
