Should be fine; you would probably want to scuff with some 220-grit sandpaper first.

Answer:
Rust-Oleum Specialty Gold Spray Paint is not recommended over vinyl surfaces by itself. You can certainly prime it by using Zinsser Bondz Maximum Adhesion Primer.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.9 out of 5 by 45 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product for crafting! I used this spray paint to paint wine bottles to use as vases for a party I was hosting. I was easily able to cover the bottles in 1-2 coats. The result was superb and looked very sharp. This is a metallic gold and really had a good shine and sparkle to it! I was able to cover 9 wine bottles, a small glass liquor bottle and a 12x12" canvas, and I had about half a can left! My only complaint is that when the wine bottles rubbed together or were scratched the paint came off a bit. This is probably because it's not ideal for using on glass. June 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Shiny Paint This produces a really excellent shiny gold finish. The coverage is quite even, and it applies easily to a variety of services. My daughter has gone through a few cans of this now for various decorating projects, and we'll continue to use it in the future. August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Change the look of a bathroom light bar! We changed the look of our bathroom light bar from a silver backing to a brass tone, so we didn't have to purchase a whole new light fixture. September 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful color It covered smoothly with no drips or runs. Highly recommended. September 13, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good paint for brass I used this paint to cover a tarnished brass plated frame where the finish was wearing off. I would have preferred the brass colored paint but you can't buy it in the store. February 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by excellent product Paint is easy to apply, covers well, and looks really good. It works well in conjunction will other paints and removers to achieve faux finishes that look great and dry fast. August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Gold! While this is not as metallic as the lid, it's a pretty gold! I would say if you want it more like the lid, go with Brass in this brand, instead of gold. August 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty metallic gold Spray covers easily and sticks well. Good price too! July 5, 2016
