I did not apply a primer prior to spray painting. Seemed to work well, just needed more than one coat.

I recently purchased this product - to paint the brass wood burning fireplace insert. Before painting - I scuffed up the brass surface - still seems to come off to easy and does not seem to adhere all that well.
Also prior to painting - I cleaned the brass surface with mineral sprits (paint thinner).

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Not sure it will save it... Bought the high heat paint for the bottom 'grate" of a gas fireplace. Former home owner had a cat the peed everywhere and now replacing the wood floor in front of the fireplace with tile. The grate is no longer available, so I did the next best thing. I painted it. Not sure it will work, but after 3 light coats, 2 days drying between, I hope it works. September 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love this stuff! Bought this to spray the dated looking brass on our gas fireplace. Had a can in a cabinet in our garage for over a year and it sprayed just as good as the new can I picked up, as I wasn't sure how well the older can of spray was going to work. So using the new can to freshen up the look on our gas grill. Excellent product! August 23, 2016
