Can I refinish a bath tub with this product ?

All tub refinishing kits I've checked had BAD reviews
Asked by: BJ
This is not designed for refinishing a tub. You might try the Bath Tub kit that Home Depot sells. It got a lot of good reviews. I know from experience that you must follow the instructions to the letter. The tub must be absolutely clean, and the surfaces etched. It may take hours of prep to do a 20 minute job, but I have gotten excellent results from a similar product.

Refrigerator with Wood Vinyl Insert

I have an old refrigerator with a door that looks like it is wooden but is actually a vinyl or plastic insert. Can/should this paint be used to paint that insert?
Asked by: Questioner
We do not recommend using Rust-Oleum Appliance Spray Paint on a vinyl or wood surface. This product is designed to adhere to metal surfaces only. Instead, if the insert is on the exterior of the refrigerator, use Rust-Oleum Universal Spray Paint. For a hard, vinyl surface, Universal is ideal for application.

Could this possibly be used on wall tiles that aren't exposed to water?

Asked by: candice
Wall tiles have a surface that is melted glass. As is, the paint will probably not stick. The surface needs to be rough to have the paint stick. Ask an associate in the paint department of Home Depot for a product that will roughen up the surface.

I bought it to repair a scratched toilet (vid on youtube) which has so far worked great. I also removed the top loading lid on my washing machine as all the edges were rusty, sanded it, applied 2 coats 45 mins apart and let it cure for 24 hours in a well ventilated room. WOW! Lid and toilet bowl looks like new! An affordable fix and I still have half a can left!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worked well Its a little tricky at first and can be a bit runny but all in all it did its job. Worked great for my garage fridge. Not sure if I'd use it on a center piece appliance. I used almost three cans on a 20 cubic foot fridge. Probably could have gotten away with two but I did three cause I had bought three. Figured a few extra coats to ensure coverage wasn't a bad thing. Once it dries you don't see the drips as much only when looking at certain angles. For the price I paid its highly recommended, I'd definetly use it again if it holds up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just like new... My old refrigerator began rusting on the front for some reason, it works great but was an eyesore. Tried another brand 1st, to no avail, it dripped down and was unsightly plus the rust began to show through. Cleaned the rust off again and sanded down the front, picked up a can of this product, removed the doors and went outdoors to spray them, waited for them to dry in about an hours time. Went on smooth, no dripping, has a nice glossy sheen, looks just like brand new. It's supposed to deter rust so I will see if it will live up to that claim over time, so far so good until then.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great coat But Beware!! I painted the maroon stands for my daughter's white washer and dryer it coated excellent but beware of the overspray! It really travels a long way, I painted my wife's new dark green car, my silver pickup and my Gold and black motorcycle with the overspray, not good but this was my fault I didn't know it would travel so far. So with reasonable caution you won't be disappointed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Honda Guy. This is exactly what I was looking for. LOL I was thinking I might try to paint a car with this stuff and I was checking to see if some one else had done it. POOF, found this review, The reason I had the idea is I had an old boat prop - 6 hp clinton. it was nicked and chipped a little so I sanded it out and got it smooth and i had the idea to paint it sos I would be able to see where it was taking the most beatings. I grabbed a can of this stuff and shot it. let it dry and put it back on the motor, took it out for a day of fishing on the lake. The motors loaded on a inflatable 11 foot raft so it goes in some pretty shallow water, I hit a few things here there is what i am getting at. when I pulled the boat out of the water i inspected the prop. I was inspecting to see the marks, damage. anything really. guess what though! it looked exactly like it did when I was finished. This is some seriously tough stuff. I think I will try it with a mini bike frame. if that works out The bugs getting the cheapest paint job I have ever bought. LOL

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Professional work by an amature I bought a pair of washer and dryer pedestals on Clearance, $99/each. Normally they cost $250/each, so this was a great deal. But the only color they came in was Navy Blue with Silver. I used this product to change them to white and I was more than pleased with the results. They were shiny and fresh. No gloss overspray was needed! I was so please with myself!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Refrigerator looks like new Our refrigerator had some worn spots in the paint, and it was not shiny any more. It is a textured surface, which sand paper can not get in the little dips. I used a green Scotch Brite pad and scouring powder to clean and roughen the surface. I then used lacquer thinner to remove any oil or grease. I gave it a very thin coat and let it sit for 5 minutes, then gave it the final coat. The first coat partially dries and hold onto the final coat for a smoother finish and less runs. It is important to overlap the strokes by at least 1/3 and keep the can a consistent distance from the surface, using an even speed. The finish now looks at least as good as the factory paint. It took 2 cans to paint the frig. If you are careful and take your time, you will get excellent results. Great price too!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazed I usually don't write reviews but I had to for this product. I had a fridge that was working just fine in a rental unit. No noise or anything. The exterior had a lot of rust and grease stains from a dirty tenant. One can of this stuff and poof - right back to new again. If you're going to spray this indoors make sure the window is closed as your spraying it and use a dropcloth to catch over spray. Once you're done open the window again so it can dry. The smell will go away in a few hours.
