Answer:
I wouldn't recommend it for that. For a bath tub, I'd go with a supper tough epoxy paint like the tub reglazers use.

Answer:
Rust-Oleum Specialty Appliance Epoxy Spray Paint is not recommended on surfaces that will be constantly submerged in water such as bath tubs because its adhesion properties will weaken. Instead, use Rust-Oleum Specialty Tub and Tile Refinishing Spray Paint in White. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-Specialty-12-oz-White-Tub-and-Tile-Refinishing-Spray-Paint-6-Pack-280882/205926956

John, I reviewed this paint previously and am very happy with the results on my range hood. I would NOT recommend this product for bathtub refinishing; it may work for a few months if it sticks at all.
I did refinish my bathtub which was badly stained and had some chips and heavy wear after 30 years of use. I used a Homax ToughTile Tub and Tile refinishing kit. It is an epoxy paint with attitude, and I've gotten 5-6 years of wear out of the job. Home Depot sells it, as well as other choices. The spray on system is currently about $46.00 and brush on is about $36.00.
To complete this project you'll need a full or half mask respirator with whatever NIOSH cartridges Homax recommends. Lose the beard, as it has to seal tightly if you love your lungs and brain cells. Expect to have the room out of use for several well-ventilated hours and the tub for a few days. I'm NOT trying to discourage you, just trying to share the scope of doing this job well and safely. The usual prep work for finicky painting applies, scrupulously clean surfaces including sanding, all other surfaces protected from overspray, nitrile gloves and etc. It's all in the instructions in the kit. You might want to pull them at the store and do a serious read. If you do that you might go down in history as the first person that made only one store trip for a project. Be careful, have fun! Answer:
If the shelves can be removed and the Rust-Oleum Epoxy Appliance Spray Paint can be allowed to reach full cure before being used in the refrigerator, yes. However, please keep in mind, this product has not been approved for direct contact with food. We recommend waiting, at least, one week before replacing the shelves in the refrigerator.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful Product! I ordered this product online hoping to use it to cover yellow spots on a upright freezer . I had tried everything on the market to no avail. I was AMAZED! It covered the yellow spots in one application! I had some old plastic lawn chairs that were faded and looked awful, sprayed them with this, and sold them at the yard sale for a great price! And just wanting to know how good this could be, I sprayed a small CARDBOARD box and left in out in all kinds of weather, , rain, hail, and snow. It, to this day is still in one SOLID piece! I am ordering more today to paint the bath tub of a new place we are moving into. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT! BUT be sure to use this brand and no other! Other brands will run and separate! October 13, 2015
