I have an unglazed concrete bird bath, smooth surface. Would this product be suitable as a sealer?
Asked by: Dawn
I did the same thing with a bird bath and had a heck of a time getting it to look smooth. Had to sand it down several times and ended up buying a second can for the top of a birdbath. Too much work for the end result you get in my opinion.

Would this provide any resistance to grease if sprayed on paper? (I am hanging a paper craft in the kitchen and don't want cooking grease in the air to damage it)
Asked by: Lee
It would but I bet it will ruin your craft since it is so thick and runs.

Can I paint over it and seal it again with the glaze?

Asked by: Jerpen
Yes, you can paint over our Gloss Clear Triple Thick Spray, we recommend first sanding the surface with 220 grit sandpaper to degloss the surface, which will allow the paint to adhere well to the surface. Once the paint has fully dried, you can apply further coats of our Triple Thick Glaze.

I have searched the web for more information and other user's opinions before start using this product. Metal surface was cleaned and triple light coat of color paint was done with primer. Each time waited minimum 24 hours drying time. Once the coats of paint is completely dried then lightly applied TTG from 5-6 feet distance total of 4 coats with allowing 24 hours drying time between the coat. Since the item will be placed outdoor most of the time I've applied one more coat and let it cure 4 days. All good. Although the instruction says quick dry etc. all painting related works require time to apply the paint, wait for paint to dry & fully cured. Key is light coat with patient.

First, I tried coating a plastic bird bath and it "crackled" every time it began to dry. Second, I have a metal hand railing leading to my porch that I spray painted, allowed 24 hours to dry (15minute dry time Rust-Oleum), then attempted to use the glaze for a finisher. The glaze reacted with the paint and caused it to again "crackle" and the paint then became soft again and you can wipe it off with your finger. This was after it had already hardened. What did I do wrong?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clear Cover It does take more than one coat. It soaks into wood that has been painted 3X, so plan on extra. It is not expensive, so that helps. I also painted clay pots. I only applied one coat to the pot itself and it wasn't thick and glossy, but with more coats it might have been. I wanted to protect the paint. I painted the wooden table tops and clay with acrylic house paint and it sealed it just fine.. The saucers are getting at least 2 coats as I want them waterproof. I sealed the inside of the clay pot with aquarium silicone. It still covers better than less thick glazes. I liked it and bought more to finish the job. I also had some Viva Decor gold on the clay pot and it sealed it fine also.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible Product Tried to use this product over black matte painted 11' X 14" picture frames to add a gloss finish. The paint dries within a few seconds on each part of the frame. Unfortunately, while spraying the last section of the frame, residual spray will spread to the 1st section painted with a resulting foggy appearance. BEWARE: The final dried product (30 minute after application) will be different than first observed. Using a minimal spray is inadequate. You cannot sand (color changes to a charcoal gray color). Cannot reapply without sanding even if you wait a week without resultant rippling/bubbling with minimal spray. Have destroyed 3 picture frames. NEVER PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT!!!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm Impressed I have purchased and used 1 can of triple thick glaze. The reason that I only purchased 1 can was that I have tried many products that did not turn out to be appropriate for my use. Since I am a professional artist and use a reasonable quantity of my staples, I will be purchasing this product in volume. My use and experiment was coating primed acrylic painted wood fish sculpture both without finish and with previous finishes. The results were most impressive given that I fully expected reactions with the previous finishes and the weather was hot and humid( Fl in Summer). I only had 1 reaction and no bubbles, snow, or milk in the finish with heavy application. Immediately after the application I did place them in my a/c studio to dry. Great product!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Abysmal Product. Ruins painted projects. Don't buy! I was building a painted project for my college kids and thought this would be a great topcoat. Sadly, it did not dry clear but left a cloudy, blotchy, milky appearance over the brightly colored paint underneath. This is not the dry spray discussed in other reviews here but a milky appearance over the top of the paint. Ventilation was fine (in my shop where other projects have been painted); temps were fine (75 degrees), and humidity within range (58%). Gotta admit, I'm pretty angry about all the work I've done that now needs to be redone. Wish I'd never used this stuff. Do yourself a favor, never, never, NEVER buy this stuff. It's pure junk.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from white dust and cloudy finish I have spray painted a thousand things - wood, metal plastic, with colored paint and clear glazed and never had a problem. I painted in the garage, in the shade, and when it was 70 degrees and low humidity. This left white dust and a splotchy cloudy finish. terrible product. My project is ruined and now I have to start over. Waste of money and time.
