Will this paint work well on an electric range top?

I need to do some touch up painting on my GE electric range. I bought some white appliance paint but it says it is not to be used on range tops due to the heat factor. Will this one work or can you recommend another a spray paint for my range top?
Asked by: Feather
Stoves are actually powder coated not painted. I touched up a few chipped places with regular appliance epoxy repair on mine, but they were small and not very near the heat source. The cost and trouble of taking it apart to get it powder coated may be cost prohibitive. I have more rust on the sides. I am trying to get the rust off then treat it with something to prevent rust. I am not sure if I will actually use any type of paint due to the large area affected and the heat from the oven or if I have to I plan to use magnets to attach a metal covering to the sides to cover the area.

Does this air-dry? If not, do you have heat resistant paints that are air-drying? I want to paint my metal shade to protect the items inside, but it isn't summer so the shed isn't particularly hot right now. Thanks!

The use of a High Heat paint may not be necessary. Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Protective Enamels resist temperatures up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit and dry by oxidation. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-Stops-Rust-12-oz-Protective-Enamel-Gloss-White-Spray-Paint-7792830/100125235

Can I use this to paint an electric baseboard heater?

Asked by: Jacika
We recommend testing the surface temperature before choosing a spray paint, Jacika. If the surface temperature reaches higher than 200°F, Rust-Oleum High Heat Spray Paint is ideal for your application to a metal heater. However, if the surface temperature does not reach 200°F, for best results, use Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Protective Enamel Spray Paint. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-Stops-Rust-12-oz-Protective-Enamel-Flat-White-Spray-Paint-7790830/100196386

Used it to cover the inside of a ceiling light fixture attached to an exhaust fan in a shower that I had treated with a rust convertor.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Coverage not great, but for high heat...? For a high heat spray paint that's in stock and ready for pick up, it served the purpose, but I definitely agree with the other reviewers that the coverage is lacking. One can covered a little more than the front of one of these radiator covers and it took a couple coats to get even.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect for repainting lights My parents house had some old Halogen fixtures that had yellowed from the heat of a decade of use. After cleaning and a light sanding this paint worked fine.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a good coverage at all! The coverage is very poor. I sprayed our fireplace surround which is black metal. I used 3 cans and it still didn't cover very well despite of shaking the can quite often. Really disappointed! And I have a lot of experience.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid paint Used this paint on an old hot water home radiator. Metal takes a lot of paint to hide darkness of metal. I believe that is normal for paints. Well performing, no clog. Defiantly need ventilation with high fume smell. One radiator required 3 cans. Re coat within one hour or after 48 hours so can do all coats in one shot. Pardon the construction dust in picture!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not good coverage Used 2 cans on a radiator. All the spots where I scraped off the old paint and it was bare metal did not cover at all. Had to buy 2 more cans of spray paint (different brand) and that paint worked well. Was very disappointed. Would not purchase this rust-oleum brand again.
