Well that was originally my inspiration for using this paint. It will work just like teachers project on dry erase boards in school

I don't see why it can't be used that way. It dries looking like a semi-gloss paint (such as a white board). I remember my high school teachers using projectors on white boards. I don't foresee any issues. Just make sure you have enough of the paint to cover the area you plan on using. That way you don't have to make separate trips to the store. Hope this was helpful.

Answer:
Darlene - we do not recommend using the dry erase product for projection purposes. The coating does have a gloss on it, and that can make it difficult, depending on the projection light, to read the content on the wall.

The kit includes both parts A & B. The larger can has enough room in it so that you can just add part B into part A without using another mixing pot. You will need a paint paddle to stir both parts together. Do not shake the mixture as this will add air bubbles. I've found that foam rollers and brushes work best. Mix the whole product as you will need multiple coats, waiting about 10 minutes in between. Read More

We painted a wall with the dry erase board paint, and for the most part it comes off with the eraser - but some of the darker colors leave a faint mark - can we use a dry erase board cleaner to get this off?

Yes buckeye,
I have experienced similar issues with some colors leaving shadows behind after cleaning.
The best option is to use a dry erase board cleaner (liquid) for all cleaning.

Although the Rust-Oleum Specialty Dry Erase Kit will dry to a durable finish, you're likely going to need to do a touch up with another coat. You may not need to a do a full coat touch up, but you may have to fix the areas that you drilled. Thanks for reaching out!

Yes- you can drive a nail or screw through the finish, but it will be ugly. If I HAD to put a screw through the finish, I would use an oval head screw and a countersink washer.

Answer:
Hello HomeImprovementDummy,
As long as the paint has thoroughly cured it shouldn't be an issue. Drilling through the paint is less likely to disturb the paint surface than hammering. I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Chris

27 oz. White Gloss Dry Erase Kit is rated 2.8 out of 5 by 82.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product..but pace yourself ! I decided to try this product on my tables for the writing center. It is extremely easy to use but don't rush the process. Before applying be sure to use a primer and allow it to dry overnight before applying this product. In addition , use a foam roller to ensure you have a smooth finish. This product does require you to take your time. It is not like regular paint. It is like pouring milk out of a jug so you have to be sure you line the surface you are painting with painters tape because it is going to run some and you don't want it to get on areas where the paint should not be. Once you apply your first coat you have to allow it to dry about 20min then apply the 2nd coat. The paint can't be reused so you have to use it all in one setting. I was able to cover 2 tables with one kit. My students are going to enjoy writing directly on the table.one other tip, use basic dry erase markers like blue, black, red, brown, ....no neon colors and use a magic eraser as your eraser and not the usual dry eraser. I hope I was helpful in helping you determine if this product is for you! Shun, 7/2016

Rated 2 out of 5 by from terrible product i already had a painted on dry erase board that was chipping so i decided to sand off the old and fix it. the application and directions were very easy to follow and i did everything according to the directions but the end product didn't work as good as it looked. the dry erase markers would not erase without alot of elbow grease. in the end i DO NOT recommend this product

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrible product! I tried this product because it was cheaper than Idea Paint, but I definitely got what I paid for. I prepped the area according to the instructions, applied three coats and waited 5 days before using the surface. It looked great, but that was it. I used expo dry erase markers, but they did not "erase". The only thing that would erase the markers was Goo-Gone and a LOT of elbow grease...even then there are ghost marks. I was looking forward to having a dry erase wall for months, and now I am starting over from square one. My friends have used both Idea Paint and the Sketch Pad paint, and have had great results and the true functionality of a dry erase board. Skip the Rustoleum brand!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from So so product I've put 4 coats of this prouduct and wouldn't recommend. Idea is great but the carry through isn't well. I've put this proxy on the company's magnetic paint primer and on sanded (220 grit) regular wall. Must say the regular wall was better. Magnetic wall NOT recommended to use this product. After five coats and four days of curing, dry markers would not erase completely. I have pice of each coat and results.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your money I have been happy with chalkboard paints and wanted to try this product for my classroom. I followed all the directions exactly. Yep, you can write on it, but you'll end up seeing everything from now on no matter how hard you scrub. Super sucky product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible!! I used one coat of primer for a section of whiteboard on my office wall. Then applied 2 coats of the product. I waited 3 days before writing. Even with cleaner and scrubbing the markers still barely come off at all. This is especially frustrating because I tried it on other sections of my office walls that have regular paint and the markers came off with ease. I could have just used the walls as they were before and would have gotten abetter result!! I'm incredibly disappointed and now I have mess

We used the oldest box first and everything went fine and looked good. When we used the newer product on the second door that we were doing it was terrible even though we primed the area like it suggested there was spots that were bleeding through as if the product was pulling these spots up. My wife ended up repainting the door to another color. Not sure if we may have got a bad batch on the second product.
