Be careful when selecting color chip on the can are darker than the real tinted color. Example: -banner blue - appears to be a dark navy blue on the side of the can. In reality - color is a shade slightly darker than royal blue. I had the paint tinted twice - trying to acheive navy color without success. The purple was the same issue - can color appeared darker than the real color. I ended up trying the Read More

I see the sample colors but I'm confused on how to identify the color you want when it's not stated on the can. I see the cans that say black but nothing for the tintable chalkboard paint cans. Help???

Answer: 
Rust-Oleum Chalkboard Paint will adhere to laminate; however, we do not recommend using this product on a countertop. It is not designed to withstand the everyday wear and tear of a countertop surface; it also does not contain the antimicrobial properties of most countertop coatings.

No, caulkboard paint leaves a course unsealed surface which be a very poor surface for a counter top.

We do not recommend applying Rust-Oleum Specialty Chalkboard Paint to an exterior surface. This product is for use indoors only and is not designed to withstand the elements of the outdoors.

I am painting the doors of a classroom cabinet. I have an oil-based primer that I use on laminate surfaces. Will this type of primer work with this chalkboard paint?

For best adhesion to a laminate surface, ​we recommend the use of Rust-Oleum Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 Primer for all Surfaces. This primer is water-based and can be top coated with Chalkboard paint after only one Read More
