Answer:
Yes, if the surface is adequately cleaned it will adhere to aluminum or prior paint that is in good shape. If you are painting an entire garage door, spray cans are a poor choice. But for touch up of small areas it will work fine.

Yes you could paint your aluminum doors with this paint. I would prep the door with a painting prep product first to remove any sap, bird droppings, dust etc. (See Home Depot for the best prep products)
If your are doing touch-up work than this would be good as long as you are happy with the paint matching of what you have already. If you are doing an entire door than be prepared to buy a lot of cans of

Answer:
Happy to help Pat! Smooth, hard, or glossy finishes should be scarified by sanding to create a surface profile before painting with Rust-Oleum Universal Paint and Primer in One. We suggest doing so with 180-220 grit sandpaper.

12 oz. All Surface Gloss White Spray Paint and Primer in One (Case of 6) is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 56.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but Followed the instructions. Didn't understand until after 2nd coat dried for 24 hours that paint appeared less glossy over some areas. When applying 3rd coat, began paying closer attention to the spray sound. A softer gentler smoother sound resulted in smoother paint sprayed. A noisier sound resulted in spitting paint. Some cans seem to last longer than others, despite aggressive more than one-minutes shaking. When the paint comes out of the can smoothly, the coverage is glossy, beautiful, and professional.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from 2 were messy, 1 was not 2 cans leaked and made a mess. 1 can did not leak. The spray was odd. It did not cover well. I don't know what the long term wear will be, but apply it was not good. I am accustom to using spray paints and this is why I went with a more costly type for my outdoor piece of furniture.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst paint I have ever purchased When spraying the paint leaked at the trigger running all over my hand and the drop cloth. This was money and time spent which was a total waste. Very disappointed!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Spray Paint Nozzle leaked Dripped paint all over can and work area
Date published: 2016-09-28
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Satisfactory paint in a can The trigger design appeared to be an improvement over the traditional button on top, but the amount of force needed to produce a full spray pattern is still significant, causing fatigue by the end of the spray job. The fan pattern is good, but the nozzle did spit a couple of times, leaving small spatters on the work piece that had to be smoothed by hand. The paint itself was fine, dried to handle in an hour and produced a smooth finish.
