Means it plugs in for power as opposed to battery powered. I think they highlight this just to insure no one is confused. It could certainly be carried to a job site but there would need to be power at the job site.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 77 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good saw for pinned blades. This is a good little adjustable speed scroll saw for someone wanting to use pin type blades. But if you are wanting to use plain or pinless blades don't waste you money. In the first week that I owned this saw I took it back for replacement three times. The tightening screw on the upper cutting head snapped off in my fingers every time I tried to put in a pin less blade. I was not using any tools to tighten the screw only my thumb and pointer finger, and even after being tightened till it snapped the blade slipped out the minute I tried to begin cutting. The wood I was trying to cut was 1/4" white pine so I know the wood wasn't too hard. However as a pin type scrollsaw it works great, easy speed adjustment, blade access, and sawdust removal. A decent saw as long as you stick with pin type blades. September 1, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by New to Scroll Saw I am new to the world of cutting with a scroll saw so I bought this one because of the price. I am exceedingly ecstatic with the ease of use and the quality of work this saw will produce. I' would definitely and HIGHLY recommend this to a beginner!! August 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Happy Camper This is my third scroll saw and by far the best. Blade changing is easily accomplished. Speed adjustment is in a perfect place to adjust while operating. And there is plenty of room to work with some longer pieces. I use it every day and have had no problems. August 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent purchase. Scroll saw was already assembled and ready to use except for blade insertion. I have used scroll saws previously and this one was just as easy to use. The manual was customer designed and quite easy to follow. I highly recommend all Ryobi products. August 9, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Ryobis failure at the ScrollSaw This item is cheaply made cracked and broke quickly. Harbor freight made one a lot better for a lot less. Now i know why this item is not in stores. No one would purchase it if seen first hand. On the pic on the box it shows rubber feet . There are none in the box. It is Trash March 1, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by riobi scroll saw First let me start off by saying how much I love Ryobi tools. I am always amazed at the quality vs price of their products. Then there's this scroll saw that I had to return for all negative qualities you have read about in the other reviews. It vibrates horribly and the blower is really useless. I got the Dewalt with the stand and am very happy now. Spend the extra money if are going to spend more than ten minutes scrolling. You will not regret it. July 31, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Inexpensive and acts like it... Basic scroll saw is what you get for the low price. Do not get this saw if you plan on using it regularly, won't hold up at all. August 16, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by First Scroll Saw This worked straight out of the box with no issues at all. Very straightforward use, and it worked well. There's a blower thing that they added to remove dust out of the way which does almost nothing whatsoever but it doesn't really bug me. It also seems to have a hard time cutting really tight corners, I've already broken two blades but to be fair, this is my first time with a scroll saw so there's a very high probability that it's just my fault. It also moves around a lot when working with it, but once again I'm a beginner and maybe I haven't secured it properly. All in all I'm very happy with this product. June 15, 2016
