Customer Questions & Answers

Can you use this to clean vinyl siding?

Asked by: chloe
Hi Chloe. Yes. You may use this tool around the house for cleaning most small to large horizontal or vertical exterior surfaces, smaller exterior objects and structures, and outdoor equipment and tools. You can clean or remove mold and mildew from weathered decks, driveways, patios, walkways, sidewalks, etc. Remove dirt from various exterior vertical surfaces such as house exteriors, siding, fences, brick, concrete or stone walls, etc. Thanks for your question.

Is there a maximum distance/length when attaching a garden hose? ie. can I attach a 100ft garden hose with no loss in power?

I have 2 water connections on my house and both are around 100ft away to the end of my driveway. Will it hurt the unit to connect a 100ft water hose to it and a thick gauge extension cord for power?
Asked by: NideoK
In my opinion the length of the hose should not make a difference. Not sure what length extension cord you plan on using but the instructions tell you NOT to use an extension cord of 100 feet. I would advise you to look into having a dedicated outlet installed in your garage along with a water tap if the cost is reasonable. Good luck with everything.

Does anyone have problems with leaking?

I need a pressure washer for cleaning screens inside my home for my small business. I need to use this pressure washer indoors. I was wondering if anyone has problems with leaking? Thanks.
Asked by: Emul
Won't leak any more than if you brought a garden hose into your house and used it to water a large plant. The connection to and from the unit is hand tightened and should not leak. Make sure there is a hose washer in each end.

I bought this Ryobi pressure washer as an alternative renting a gas unit at my local hardware store. I needed it to wash the hull of my boat, and it did a great job of removing a season's growth. I tried it on the topsides as well, and it removed dirt and stains that a brush and soap couldn't. This Ryobi unit is easy to use and is plenty powerful for most household jobs. It made a moss-covered basketball backboard look brand new. There is a soap reservoir, and I imagine it would do a great job of cleaning siding. I haven't tried in on decking yet, and am curious to see if it will be as effective. All in all, I am very pleased with my purchase.

Would give it a 4.5 if possible only because I just got it and not sure about durability. I had poured concrete edging on a home we purchased that hadn't been cleaned in years-this thing cleaned off the years of accumulated dirt, etc. flawlessly. Cleaned the gutters and downspouts easily pulling off the algae. Cement patio was black from build-up and it cleaned it with no problem. I ran if for nearly three hours straight and it did not miss a beat. Very happy with it. Lightweight so very easy to maneuver. Had a unit in the past with wheels but it tipped over a lot-this is much more functional. Perfect for general household cleaning. Did a great job on the build-up of debris, fungus, on my bricks on the home as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow great value and product!!! This little Ryobi 1600 packs a punch. I doubted this little guy but figured if it doesn't do the job I'll return it and get something larger. This is perfect for a DIY'er. Has plenty of power. I cleaned 3 story town home that was covered in algae and dirt with no problems. Extension wands/attachments can be found if you know what you are looking for. (The Power Care wand at Home Depot is not compatible) Lowe's has a Blue Hawk Model #: SGY-PWA67 extension wand that comes with angled option for those hard to reach gutters. I highly recommend this product. I think I may be the first to find an extension wand option that fits this model. Note I purchased mine new only because I was impatient, but I would buy a reconditioned model in a heartbeat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from "lil Ryobi We are loving our new Ryobi! Just moved into a new (old) house and it sure does need cleaning up and the Ryobi is just the ticket. It's compact and easy to move around; the attachments are useful; you can fill it with various solutions, according the the project; and for a 1600 psi, the results are quite marked as you can see from the pic (this was taken at dusk as well, and you can even see the difference). Great product for a reasonable price. Definitely recommended.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a bad machine but support is not good I purchased this unit and then it quit working. The GFCI plug on the end shorted out. I contacted Ryobi who explained it needed to be taken to an outdoor service center. The nearest one is 30 miles away. I went to Home Depot and purchased another one for 17.00 which saved me time and fuel. Ryobi should have just sent a refurbished unit and handled this professionally. If I had taken it to service it would have taken 3 weeks to repair. The GFCI had water inside the plug which makes no sense. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best little powerwasher EVER! I can't give this product enough praise. I was amazed at the power that came from this little guy. The manufacturers really took time to think about the consumer when designing this product. It is very compact and there is a spot for everything right on the unit, making storage very easy. There are two straps (one for the power cord and the other for the hose), slots for the 3 nozzle attachments that are included, and clips for the spray wand - all in one very easy to carry unit! Set-up was pretty easy (just attach the hoses, clip together the spray wand, attach the appropriate nozzle, turn on and away you go). I didn't use the on-board soap reservoir so I can't say how well that works, but the power washer worked so well that I didn't even need it. I did my back patio which is all concrete and then also did some brick and some decking as well and it all turned out great! I definitely prefer this little guy apposed to a gas one because it's much more compact and much more hassle-free. The power cord is pretty long so you can plug in pretty far away and the hose is a decent length as well. The unit isn't too noisy, but you should still wear protective ear muffs in order to save your ears. I had a hard time deciding between this unit and a larger one on wheels and I'm super happy with my decision to purchase this one because it is definitely powerful enough to get the job done, and storage will be a lot easier.

Lasted until end of October when the pump went out, with very light use. Good luck getting it serviced! No Ryobi service center within 200 miles. Customer service was no help. Said i should cal all service centers in web site until i found one who would maybe do a warranty repair. Buyer beware, Ryobi mfg. warranty is worthless! I have lots of Ryobi tools. This might be my last one!!
