CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 2.2 out of 5 by 26 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by One Little Powerhouse - Recommended! We bought this when we were at the store because my husband liked the strength of the tines in comparison with the Echo model that was also available (I had wanted the Echo, as it looked more like the Mantis Tiller)... Well, let me tell you that I am glad I followed my husband's suggestion :-) The first day that I used it, I hit some rocks that I'm sure would have wrecked the Echo's tines altogether! Those rocks didn't phase the Ryobi at all! It is one powerhouse of a cultivator, which I would highly recommend to anyone maintaining planter beds or gardens that are not hard packed. I only gave it a 4 star, as a 4.5 star wasn't available, and if someone bought it for a "new" garden, they might be disappointed in it.... Easy to use, Easy to store works great! March 9, 2010
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works slick if you use it right. The machine is very low weight & easy too handle. Conversely that means its not going to just bite down into packed soil. It may take a couple passes and a little finnesse, but it's much easier than wielding a full sized tiller and can get comperable results January 10, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Follow up review I had previously reviewed this one after 5 or 6 hours of use. At 8 or 9 hours, it began to leak oil, and then the tines seized up again (just like the Homelite did) and stalled the engine every time you tried to hit accelerator. Cheesh.... I just want something durable that is worth the money!!! Maybe it's the clay here in Chicago area that is doing this. I will be returning this one today. Guess I will spend the extra $ and try the Honda. Seems like it has gotten good reviews here. June 12, 2010
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible Product This tiller was absolutely terrible. If you can get it to run it works fine until it runs out of gas after about 20 minutes. I was able to use this thing about 3 times total for about 1 hour total. In between turns it would take 20-30 minutes just to get the thing started. Towards the end of the 3rd time using it it started leak oil everywhere. Very poorly made. Took back to the store the same day. Easy return no questions asked. July 12, 2010
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Engine Seized Purchased in Spring 2011 and used half dozen times or so. Got it out yesterday, put fresh gas in, checked oil, had a terrible time starting it, and when it did finally start it ran two minutes and engine seized up. Too bad too, worked great last year. Hope I still have all documentation. April 6, 2012
