Answer:
and you should use an impact gun with it as other people have said using a drill well make it break on you as the shaft cant take the torque but an impact gun well release the torque every time it does the "impact"

Answer:
Hi Steve! Yes, however the shaft is just a holder. A metal bit would be needed for use.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Loved it so did my boss "Should only be used with impact guns" it is true that this tool used with a plain old drill is going to twists up and break... that is why i only use it with an impact gun. At my job we need to drill holes without any room for the guns so i used this tool along with an 3/8 adapter (for the drill bit ) with the impact gun and it works great i have only broke 1 so far a few days ago (was over a year old) its been used to drill into SS metal along with impacting bolts You cant go to crazy with it but i find it best when drilling with an impact gun and for bolts it does an ok job solo impact gun can drive them in deeper but for my job it was not needed March 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Above and boyond in transfering torque This Flexible Shaft certainly went above and beyond its intended use. I needed to drill a hole in a wall header that I did not have access to. Through a 2" hole in the wall, I was able to use this and a 1" spade bit (Bosch Daredevil bit) to drill the hole through the double 2x header. I will state that while the flex shaft did contort some under the extreme torque, it did the job remarkably well. So, yeah, if you want to know if it can transfer the torque, I can certainly say it does. Obvious Disclaimers: This shaft is not advertised to be able to be used to drill a 1" hole, it may break, causing damage, injury, etc... Use extreme caution. September 7, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Improper Use I tried using this bit holder to drill a 3/4" hole through an old stud behind a wall. I got most of the way through before the bit holder broke free. While I was certainly not using it for its intended purpose, it broke ridiculously easily. August 25, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by poor product Worked within the parameters stated on the packaging and it promptly broke in less than a minute. Even though I had a strong grip on the drill and extension it curled in on itself and bent so badly that it was inoperable. I figured I had just gotten a lemon so I exchanged it for another. The next on lasted about 4 minutes longer than the first before coiling in on itself and bending beyond use. I returned that one also. This product may prove alright for really light work, but the shaft is too flimsy to achieve most practical work. January 28, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good one For all those crocked corners and nooks which are hard to reach .. this is a life saver. We used it for installing over the range microwave, the cabinet hinges were in the way and without this ..nothing would have been able to be done. February 17, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent product, well constructed This tool provides the versatility to reach hard to get to places. It is easy to use and I find many opportunities to use it. The length and flexibility enhances most all of my bits an screwdrivers. This shaft provides a wonderful addition to my tool box and requires very little space. I would recommend this to any professional of home user without hesitation. The price is a great incentive and I am very pleased to have found it. July 7, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Under cabinet drilling I needed to run a water line for an ice maker. The corner cabinet did not go all the way to wall. Because I would not be able to get to that dead space once the countertop was installed, I decided to install above the toe kick. This did the trick to get a level hole through the cabinets between the floor and the bottom area of the cabinets that sticks out above the floor. August 15, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by very useful Fits perfect and gets into tight spaces, however I was hoping for a bit (see there drill humor) more flexibility. You really have to force it to bend. August 30, 2014
