Next day is was a little cold I went to use the tool it was in and it was dead. It would not charge. It has not worked since. My neighbor had the same problem with his battery also. None of the stores around here carry the battery and the online is sold out. I have a number of Ryobi products, none top of the line. Last Ryobi I will buy since I have received NO SUPPORT FROM Home Depot on this product and quite honestly I don't think they ever care. I have several tools that are now useless because of it. A new Lowes in the area, at least they stand behind their products. Bitter

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value Bought the 12v rechargeable drill and charger in Jul 2015... battery was great for 14 mos and then dead. Now all Ryobi cordless products all 18v and the stores have no 12v replacement batteries except via mail order. Suggest buying spare batteries immediately with original purchase. Great performance and light weight... short 14 mos battery life was unexpected.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Battery fails The original batteries that came with the product became faulty 6 months after purchasing it. I can't buy new power tools so I'll have to buy this battery again and again and again.... so sad :'(

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The battery does work however is if get down below 40 degrees it will the battery and it will nev... The battery does work however is if get down below 40 degrees it will the battery and it will never work again, (And the Home Depot repair shop in my area do not have the capabilities to test the Ryobi 12volt batteries). To my knowledge as of this date, Ryobi has never fixed this issue. The 18V seems to do a little better but it to cannot be stored below 40 degrees. Dewalt XRP's seem's to be a lot better at colder temps. As a contractor this was a real problem as my tools are stored in a work trailer. So gave away all of my common Ryobi 12v and 18v work tools, saws, drills, etc. I switch to mainly using Dewalt tools and batteries and if I leave them out in cold temps for a few days, No Biggie they still work fine. I hadn't had a problem with my Dewalt XRP's in over 5 years. I hear the 20volts have their issues too so I'm sticking with 12volts for now. But if you can store the Ryobi's inside where it's warm they should do OK. I have over 20 batteries and just about as many charger. I have no room in for them. (However I must say that the tools always worked great, they generally always out lasted the batteries.)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from worst batteries ever lasted 2 times for about 10 minutes one battery never recharged don't buy

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage It won't let me give a negative star review. I got the whole set, drill, circ saw, recip saw, flash light, and an impact driver. 4 batteries in total. The circ saw never worked once. Two of the batteries were defective out of the box, and the other two are defective after only 6 months. It should be illegal to sell this garbage.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Another unhappy consumer Thanks to all of the other reviews I did not make the same mistake and spend the $ to replace these poorly designed/manufactured batteries. I also agree the drill itself is great - lightweight, and with plenty of power to do small jobs WHEN YOU HAVE A WORKING BATTERY. However, the batteries failed to hold a charge after a few months, then registered as "defective" on the charger as everyone else has stated. I bought an 18-V Drillmaster from Harbor Freight for half as much money as a single one of these replacement batteries. But it is large and unwieldy for someone with arthritis as I have, so I guess you just can't win.
