Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by fuzzled great saw, few problems.
first off im gonna say this was my first power tool ive ever purchased. but not the first ive ever used.
i got it yesterday for 45$. i got it to cut 2x4 beams for a little project. it was cutting good but i came across some problems.
-first being it wont cut all the way thought. the guard gets caught on the wood and wont go any farther. causing me to have to finish the half inch with my hand saw.
-second, it has a very bad kick to it. like it almost comes out of your hand when it does.
besides these 2 little problems it works great. got my project done in under 7 hrs.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tubba Great saw - highly recommended
I'm an occasional home renovator and a woman. I replaced my old B&D circular saw with a RYOBI. I got the one with the laser and case but can't find it listed on the website so am posting my review here. Used it this am to shorten the bathroom door since the cork tile I laid down are slightly higher than the old ceramic tiles and the door needed to be a tad shorter. The saw worked great - the included 24 tooth blade was all I needed. It's heavier than my old saw but much better quality - the added weight didn't affect my being able to use it properly as it cuts very smoothly. I really, really like having the case plus it came with a cutting guide. The wrench to remove the blade slips into a little storage area on the bottom of the saw - also nice as these are things I tend to misplace if they aren't kept with the tool they are for.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Dundee Great product for the money. Very economical.
I bought this circular saw to cut pavers for a patio that I was building with 1 3/4 inch thick pavers. The saw worked great to cut the 1/2" to 3" pieces that I needed. I did, however, buy a special blade for cutting brick before I started. Fairly easy to use but a little heavy.

I volunteered to make a cub-o-matic for our cub-scout pack. For my idea I needed a to cut some plywood. For the small project I didn't want to spend a lot of money so, I bought this Ryobi. It was dependable and worked great. On to the next project!

I know that this is not a forum for wood-bound philosophy., but hear me out. After years of buying Godzilla-level tools for an imaginary future need, I realize that the best tool is one that fits the needs you have. I'm a DIY guy. This really strong little circular saw is lightweight, compact, and right sized for the needs of a homeowner. I'm not needing this to frame out a few houses; I need to cut lumber for outdoor household projects every summer. Put a thin kerf carbide blade on this, as I have, and it'll pretty much do anything you ask of it. Be realistic...don't ask it to plunge cut 5/4 seasoned oak floors quickly. (and NO, I didn't :)

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jack Excellent DIY Saw
I bought this saw to help me reconfigure and refinish my deck and for different odds and ends projects around the house. For my purpose, it does the job very well. Since I don't need to use the saw very often, I wanted to buy the lowest priced dependable saw. I believe this is it. I didn't bother w/ the blade that came with it and bought a diablo 24 tooth instead at the recommendation of others here.
The only slight downside is that the saw is heavy (for me) and it does show it's lack of power during some harder cuts. (But you do get what you pay for.)
All in all, excellent buy for those not looking to spend a lot of money.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by karlthekarpenter11 A pleasant surprise
My first time using the product was truly a surprise.I have been doing various forms of building all of my adult life, and I swore by some of the so called "better brands". As it turns out, those "better brands" are merely a reputation due to the length of time that they have been doing business. I am not going to sit here and tell you that this fifty dollar saw will stand up to the rigors that a two hundred dollar saw will, but for the price you won't be disappointed. I do this type of work for a living and it does everything I ask of it.If you're a do-it yourselfer ,you've found perfection without breaking your bank account.
