Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Reasonable for the price My Ryobi battery powered saw was not up to the task, so I took a chance on this saw. For $40 I expected very little. It turns out the plate that rests on the wood flexes a little. Thus the saw can tilt a little depending on how you lean on the saw. The notches in the front showing where the saw will cut are off by about 1/8 inch. I squared up the blade and I cut to the edge of the alignment notch (not the center) and it works fine. The blade that comes with it is junk, so just assume another $10 to $15 for a good blade. (Home Depot occasionally has them on sale for buy one get one free) A $15 blade is 1/2 the cost of the saw but worth it. Other than that, It runs fine. Well worth the money. June 1, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Nice Saw I was hesitant to buy this saw after my more expensive Skilsaw gave up the ghost. I have other Ryobi tools that have always performed well so I gave it a chance. So far I am not disappointed. This thing is smooth, powerful and much quieter than my old Skilsaw. I have an old Ryobi orbital sander that I bought in the late 80s and a few vsr drills that I bought in the mid 90s that still work like new - I have no doubt that this saw will hold up over the long haul. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Flimsy shoe causes inaccuracy. It is unfortunate that the shoe is made from such light gauge steel, as it flexes with the slightest pressure. I suspected that It would not make a straight cut without the blade going off vertical, so I had to return it. Otherwise, the plastic parts are very good; and it is very comfortable at 7 lbs; and 13 amps is plenty of power to cut studs, 3/4 ply and MDF. Had the shoe been made of steel that was twice as thick, it would be an excellent tool. I'll just keep using my 14 lb Makita Hypoid. August 22, 2015
