Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Atchy Ryobi 10" sliding mitre saw
This saw is very well priced and and is a great value at that price, however the mitre stops are not as positve as one needs. In using the saw I found that in tightening the locking screw to hold the saw at the mitre stop, the saw moved position, not holding true. With very little effort one can move the saw from its locked position off its mark without unlocking it. Ryobi would have a excellent saw if the stops were solid locks rather than a ball in hole detent and a lock that engages a serated guide that doesn't hold position. Bed was flat and operation was easy to use. I am returning this and may try another Ryobi or may upgrade to another saw.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by PaulDYI Lacking in precision and versatility
Before you buy this saw, check the fence to be sure it is straight. The fence on the Ryobi saw I purchased was not straight, making precision cuts almost impossible. When I went back for a replacement saw, I found two others with crooked fences. Ryobi needs better quality control here.
Also, consider whether you will need to cut wood thicker that 3 1/2 inches. And look carefully at the saw's angle cut capabilities, as they are quite limited, and you may want greater versatility.
Otherwise, this saw has performed well, and the price was competitive. But if I buy another miter saw, I'll spend more to get more.

This saw might be ok for doing a deck but not for anything that requires accurate cuts. I had to recalibrate the Mitres and bevels three times and when i finaly took it back the saw was out 3 1/2 degrees. Home depot was good about it and took it back and gave me a great deal on a bosch saw. Also the lazer was not even close to the cut, and due to the location it would get covered in dust with every cut. You get what you pay for i guess. The only thing i liked about this saw was the stand it came with. Also the screw to hold the blade in was cross threaded on the first one i brough home.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Curmudgeon70 Low Priced Miter Saw
Bearing in mind the price/performance characteristics of this unit, I felt a rating of 5 was not over the top.
Obviously, this saw is not built to the exacting standards of many higher end units priced in the $350 and up price range. Please keep in mind that this saw is only $200.
a: Construction is solid.
b: Adjustments are quite well set right out of the box.
c: There is adequate power for most jobs.
d: Operation is quite smooth thanks to ball bearing construction.
e: The saw is well designed for portability with a properly placed carry handle.
If you require the adjustments to be very accurate for the blade to be 90 degrees vertical to the base and 90 degrees horizontal to the fence, I suggest the purchase of a 9 inch draftsman quality 90/45 degree triangle. Took me 5 minutes to readjust using this technique. They are plastic and cheap but an excellent investment.
All in all, this saw is an excellent investment for the price and unless you are a contractor who uses the thing every day, It should last for many years.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by ChelseaDIY Very inacurate
I bought this saw to replace an older unit and used it to do carpentry that did not require a high degree of accuracy for a few months. Recently I tried using it to install hardwood flooring and discovered that the 45 degree and right angle cuts where unpredictable and varied greatly as there is no real positive stop - the stop is provided by a spring loaded ball that rarely stops the saw in the same position.
Bottom line - this saw does not provide the accuracy required of a miter saw - do not buy if you require accuracy!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by mountcastle Single Bevel Only
A reliable product, well built, reasonably priced but somewhat limited.Having just finished installing a hardwood floor in my son's condo,I would say that the saw performed well in a crosscut capacity.Having installed the accomanying baseboard and door framing as well,I would say that since the saw has single bevel capacity only, material which is wider than six inches can not always be cut on the front side and tends to chip somewhat when cut on a bevel on the backside. For smaller trim jobs artound the house or cottage,my rating would rise to 4.

This saw saved not only time but my energy too! It is very accurate and cuts are quick. The laser guide makes mitre cuts a snap. I rebuilt my back porch with a borrowed saw from my neighbor and liked it so much when it came to the front porch, I went and bought one of my own. Since then I've taken to helping my friends out and go into new projects in my home without hesitation like I use to with a simple hand held circular saw. I recommend this saw to anyone who does anything around the house from simple fix its to major renovations.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sawduster Out Standing!!!
We made the purchase and arrived home . The packaging was first class for this product. Started assembly which was simple and a breeze with the manual. All parts well packaged as well.
After assembly and mounting on a good solid stand we were ready . Picture perfect was the result after cutting several picture frames and building a bed. Cuts were very square, clean and accurate making joints gap-less. Saws settings were tight on miters with no problems. Fantastic price Great Product . You won't go wrong .
