Customer Questions & Answers

Does this saw come assembled and with a saw blade?

Asked by: 1234
Yes it does, you only have to put in the batteries for the laser. If you cant handle that then you probably shouldn't be using a saw.

Hi Frank! The switch can be special ordered through the special services desk of any Home Depot in the continental U.S. If you are looking for the switch alone, the part number is 089006017053.

Customer Reviews

14-Amp 10 in. Compound Miter Saw is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 189.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well worth the price I like this saw. My old 8" would not cut 4x4's but it served me well over 25 years. This new Ryobi 10" cut through wet pressure-treated 4x4's straight and square without a problem. I love the clamp and the big D-handle. I really love that the deck height is exactly 3" or the thickness of two 2x4's which is exactly what I usually have around the worksite - great for propping up the end of a long board. I have already recommended it to my sons and I am happy to recommend it to you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Saw for the Price I thought I would post an unbiased review since I rely so much on these reviews when I am shopping. I needed a saw to cut treated wood, 2x2, 2x4, and 1x6 to replace a bunch of rotted wood on my Acadian style front porch that is the width of the house. This saw was perfect. The first weekend I rented a Ryobi for $30 but realized I could have bought this one for $119 so I did buy it the next weekend. I considered the Hitachi at Lowe's for $139 but after looking at both of them, I thought the Ryobi had a better quality feel. It will do anything you need for your home. I am now going to put crown molding in my master bedroom. I'm done with the porch. The blade cuts smoothly and the lazer guide is great. You can't beat if for the price. This is all I will ever need for home. Pros will probably need something bigger. This is compact at 27 lbs. and won't break your back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Essential for DIY-ers VERY glad I went with a miter saw with a Laser. Once you've squared your saw and calibrated the Laser (should be spot on or very very close right out of the box anyway), the Laser is an awesome time saver and convenience. For the price, this is a great value miter saw. I'm just a weekend DIYer without any professional training / experience and this is my first miter saw so I don't have much to compare to. That being said, I have no show-stopping complaints yet. The included clamp to secure your material was a little more cumbersome than I cared for so I just remove it when working. Similar to other reviews, the dust bag genuinely doesn't function as intended. There's little to no saw dust going in. Just prepare for a lot of saw dust typical of any sawing. And one missing feature would be to have extension supporting arms on other side of the table like the Ryobi Sliding miter saw. I used this saw to make tons of cuts (1x3, 1x4, and 2x2 pine wood) to make a set of Bunk Beds and was SO glad I had it. HUGE time saver...doing all that cutting with a circular saw would've taken forever. This miter saw zips right through. The blade brake is a nice feature as the saw quickly stops after each cut so you can slide the material through for the next cut. Includes a 20-tooth saw blade which provides clean edges without hardly any shredding. For finer wood projects, I'm sure a 40 or 60-tooth blade would be better. For a small DIYer who still wants a quality product that works very well, this saw at this price is tough to beat. And I spent a couple weeks price & feature comparing...and I'm very happy with my choice!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I'm glad I bought this saw I decided to get a miter saw for around the house projects since I was tired of the results I was getting with a jig saw or a manual miter saw. Since this was just for around the house, I wasn't looking for an expensive saw. It came down to the Hitachi 10" sold at another store and this Ryobi sold at Home Depot. Although the Hitachi is advertised as a little bit less expensive, lighter in weight, and had a longer warranty, it didn't have a laser guide which I liked about the Ryobi, so I decided to buy the Ryobi. And, I'm glad I did. I think the saw exceeded my expectations. Quick and easy to use, nice straight cuts, and the laser guide is useful. The only con I see is that it is rather loud (maybe all miter saws are loud?), and the dust bag doesn't do a good job, but those are just minor inconvenences, So bottom line, I'm glad I bought this saw.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from No complaints; cheapest 10" saw I could find, and it works just fine I'm a novice handy-man, but my father-in-law knows what he's doing, and he was very happy with this saw when he helped me install a chair rail in our nursery recently. He happens to live overseas, and he was saying how he kinda wanted to buy a saw like this in the States and take it back with him, because of how bad and expensive all of the European stuff is. All in all, it gets the job done, and as long as you know that there is no electronic brake on this saw, you should be good. The laser is very helpful, and the blade worked well, even when we needed to make fairly intricate cuts to correct our bad measurements and/or our crooked walls.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No problems Read the reviews on this saw, that made me very leery about purchasing this saw. Got it home unwrapped it checked for squareness with a carpenters square, and checked for levelness with a level. Everything lined up perfectly, all cuts are on the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easily Tackled Big Job I bought this saw for my laminate flooring job. I laid around 700 square feet in the upstairs of my new house. 3 bedrooms, 1 hallway, 4 small closets, 1 large walk-in closet. Used 10mm Pergo Highland Hickory with the pad attached. This miter saw did everything perfectly. Chewed through all the cross cuts and the angle cuts for the trim perfectly. Laser was really helpful. Used the blade that came with the saw and it didn't chip any boards whatsoever. This is the first miter saw that I've personally owned and it was great. One note to be careful about, my dust bag had a small hole in it. Not too big of a deal, probably shouldn't be cutting in the house anyway, bad to breathe. Overall, I have to give it a 5, it cut everything, the laser battery lasted the entire time, no chips, no bad angle cuts, easy to carry around when you need to put it in the house for the night, good stock blade. Excellent product.
