Answer:
Yes it comes with a standard crosscut type blade. If you are doing something like base boards you need a blade with more teeth per inch, somewhere around 20 whereas this blade is around 12-14.

Please consider, as well, if you expect to make tons of cuts at that depth, that you might possibly get the most satisfactory results with a different blade. There are many choices. I would suggest you do some Googling to educate yourself, using such search terms as 'best table saw blades for deep cuts in wood'. You get the idea. Typically, these blades are called 'crosscut', since, well, that's what you're doing. Read Less

Answer:
No, you would need a bigger blade, this unite only has a 10" blade and the cutting depth is not for a stock that large. A table saw or rotary arm saw would do, depending on the blade size.

Danny, maybe, if you keep turning the stock timber several times, but, I doubt it, even then. After all, this is just a 10", non-sliding, miter saw.

I will try to answer your question but I have not tried to cut anything quite that big. I believe it will not do it in one cut. The blade is 10 inches and so it will likely only cut that down to a max of 5 inches. You could flip the wood to get it to cut all the way through. This however would make angled cuts very tricky. It is a great saw but I have only used it for 2x4s and smaller wood types.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by My New Toy Saw works perfectly and really simplified my woodworking projects. June 28, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good value; some issues Overall for just 2x4 work, this is a good value and does it's job. The scale for degrees and angles of cutting were off by a noticeable factor and made aligning cuts at 45° and 60° difficult. The laser isn't as helpful as you might think and needs often adjustment. Overall a good product for the price and for simple 90° angle work. July 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Miter Saw Excellent saw for building my handrails and installing quarter round! Just the right size for quick simple projects. July 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Quality tool I have an Older Miter saw and needed one for work so we purchased this one Works really well on cutting wood and aluminum extrusions I chose not to mount this to a platform so we have it very mobile thru the work area Things you may want to know about this saw is that you have to manually switch the laser to on. Also it could use a carry handle for those of you who will buy this for a more mobile situation Otherwise everyone is pleased with the saw July 19, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed At the low price ($120) I didn't expect perfection but this tool, in my opinion, isn't worth the price. I bought this because it had a laser (my old one did not). The laser adjustment was very flawed. First; as I turned the adj. screw to line up laser it protrudes out and "hits" the blade guide essentially stopping it from working correctly. Squaring the bed/blade; this was so/so, again, not expecting perfection but in my opinion it is not accurate enough for the price. For perspective: my $45 harbor fright miter saw is just as good minus the laser. Although, the bed surface is milled much nicer and my daughter likes the "bright limey green" color. Those are the only two things that are better than my old cheap harbor freight saw. note: this is my first miter saw with laser, maybe they all have problems but I doubt it. Returning this and using my big old harbor freight saw with no laser. July 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sweet! Worked well out of the box. Worked great right out of the box. Only required a minor laser adjustment. Right angle cut was accurate. On an actual project, the right angle was perfect when I flipped a 2x10 over for a full cross cut. I used the laser as my guide on both of the 2 cuts required. July 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great buy! I used this saw as a miter saw on moldings and a cut saw on 1/4 inch steel bar and 2 inch brick pavers. Results were outstanding and the saw never hesitated. I think it was an awesome buy. July 12, 2016
