Since the battery is over $100 online!!!, I bought a 40v Ryobi trimmer in store (can't find online) that includes the battery & charger for less than just the battery! This is the case for many tools, you almost get the tool for free when you buy as a kit/set.

I recommend you buy the 40 v trimmer (it comes with battery) and buy the blower also (without battery). you can use both with the one battery. that's what I did. Pretty economical this way.

I'm not sure, to be honest. If it fits the unit, it may work, but probably with less force for as long compared to the 40volt.
Home Depot has always been excellent with returns, so if you'd like to try, I'd be interested to know also.
Other than that, I'd contact your local Home Depot and ask them.
Bring your battery to the store and try it. ??

I've had mine for a couple of years and used the batteries probably 50 cycles or so. It depends upon how far you pull the throttle of course, and perhaps eventually the age of your battery. That being said, I have plenty of power to run it at least half an hour pretty much full blast which of course you are unlikely to do. I typically use it to blow out the garage, blow clippings back onto the lawn, etc. on a 1/4 acre lot and this won't even tax the battery more than perhaps 10%. When it comes up to serious leaf clean up in the fall where I may be blowing continuously for extended periods of time I'd recommend getting a second or possibly even a third battery. Two work fine for me when blowing leaves since I tend to give up after a couple hours or so of work and do something else, but with three batteries you could probably have enough run time to fully recharge the depleted one while you continue to work non stop, blowing continuously. It will last around an hour. In fact mine hasn't run out when I weed eat and blow off the driveway, sidewalks and my lawnmower. I still had one light left on the battery. I put it in the charger before it was dead and it completely recharged in less than an hour.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic Best garden purchase I ever made. We have a 1/2 acre property with the typical sidewalks, driveway, porches and pool deck and concrete pads around the house. This is perfect for blowing grass clippings and leaves from those areas and even the garage. No more long, heavy extension cords to unwind and rewind and drag from outlet to outlet through the screen porch doors and around pots and planters. More than enough power for Florida tree leaves as long as they are dry. Also much more quiet and somewhat smaller than my corded blower. The unit takes the same 40 volt battery as the 40 volt Ryobi string trimmer and edger attachment. Note: I was a landscape designer and installer for many years, mostly up North. This unit would not be suitable on a property where you are blowing quantities of large heavy or wet leaves. August 3, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ryobi 40 Volt blower Works well and has good balance, not too heavy and battery life is very good July 26, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by No power The guy in the store told meI would be able to blow a treedown with this blower . It can'tblow a leaf to the other side of the street . August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by good deal it's not the most powerful 1 on the market but if you have a small yard like mine it's excelllent, light weight i just switch the battery from my trimmer handle n off i go the price was a great value August 2, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Lives up to expectations This blower is strong enough to blow grass, dry leaves, and other debris. I bought it because I already have a Ryobi 40 volt hedge trimmer, and this blower uses the same battery. Also, because it was in my price range. Have only used it a couple of times so far, but I'm confident it will do what I need it to do. It is light and easy to use. The handle design is good, and can be operated with just one hand. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for small to medium jobs Got this for my wife who has a problem with the gas model. Its quiet and lightweight and nice balance. great for small jobs like the patio or sidewalk. Not enough power for a large wet leaf cleanup that is what the gas blower is for. Satisfied July 21, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Lightweight replacement Got tired of unwinding and winding up a 100 foot cord for the old blower and thought I'd try a battery model. While not as powerful as the old blower it is a lot more convenient and easier to use. Glad I got the 40 watt model July 20, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Hold off if big yard, good for small area Power limited when needed, you would think the 40v should have more kick. Its lightweight and the small tip nozzle gives it accurate pin point blowing but the power doesn't kick in. Needs a bigger motor, July 12, 2016
