Can I use my 24V battery

I already have a Ryobi 24V battery and charger - can I use them with blower?
Asked by: Bernie
You need the 40v and charger. I have 18v and 40v It seems every yard tool is going 40v where the hand power tools are 18v I like the hand tool nice and light but the yard tools are a little heavy.

We both use this blower around our property and love it. We have an electric blower which requires being plugged into an outlet. We seldom use it anymore as this is so much more convenient. It will clear our small area of leaves and debris without losing power and is light enough for my wife to use. I would recommend it highly for such use as this. One of the things I like about it is that the blower speed is variable. This allows one to use it in areas where you don't want to have the full power of the blower. You won't go wrong with this one.

I own the cordless trimmer so, since I already had the battery, buying just the blower was ideal. I typically trim before mowing so, after trimming the battery goes back onto the charger and it's ready again for the blower when I'm finished. Both are more than adequate for the average sized lot.

Comparing the two this blower seems only slightly stronger despite a much more powerful battery. Both blowers do a good job moving dry and light material (dust, leaves, grass clippings, etc) but struggle to blow wet dirt or anything moist and clumped - unless you place the nozzle right up against it. The Ryobi has the edge due to better balance and the extra tip which increases to pressure. For light duty residential use I would recommend this - especially if you own other parts of a system that uses the same battery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Sweeper This tool have saved me lot of time cleaning at home. I recently moved to a new community where there is still lots of new homes construction and there is always lots of dirt and sand in front of my house and front yard. This sweeper basically do all the work for me and the best thing is that I do not have to deal with an extension cord. It is as powerful or as gentle as you want it as you control the power with the trigger. Battery last to complete the whole job with no issues. Awesome tool as any other Ryobi tool!!! Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not enough power for grass clippings Although I read other reviews before ordering this unit I went ahead with it because of the battery matching my string trimmer and the light weight. I found out many of the reviews were right when they talked about not having enough power. It wasn't powerful enough to blow light to moderate grass clippings off the sidewalk and driveway up into the yard. Only maybe if was a very windy day out it could do this. It may only be good for blowing off light debris off a porch or sawdust in a wood shop. Returned it. I will they the next model up with 300 cfm etc

It is light and agile. I compared it to my electric blower and the convenience of this blower surpasses the electric. However, the electric has a little more power, but I would easily give that bit of power for usability. I usually use this blower just after cutting the grass or to just clean the sidewalk. If you are expecting to use this to move wet leaves around then you will need the next level which is more powerful model or gas if you intend to do wet leaves and large lot size. I use this blower weekly for about 15-30 minutes max and have had no issue with battery drain. It is always 90-100% charge before I use it. I also use the Ryobi hedge trimmer and the combination is wonderful!

When I received this item I assembled it per the manual. The first time I used it I was very disappointed with its apparent lack of power and volume. However, the second and subsequent times I used it I removed the little "clip on" nozzle from the tip. Removing that nozzle gave me the power and volume I expected from a leaf blower. I use this item primarily to blow grass and debris from my sidewalk. It also works well blowing leaves and other debris from my patio.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light but powerful My wife saw that this and a weed eater were bundled together for a pretty affordable price. We've been wanting to get a blower and our current weed eater wasn't great, so I told her to go ahead and pick it up. We were really pleased with how much power is packed into this light little blower. I actually had fun using it and have used it to blow old, clumped leaves off our awning from the ground. I've recommended it to other people. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
