Answer:
The leaf blower is a single, self contained unit (with removable battery so you can use it on all of the other 40v series tools), not like the combo units you see sold with wet/dry vacs. This is a battery powered unit and the combo wet/dry vacs and blowers are all corded units, at least all the units I have seen.

No, blower only. The value is in the battery price. If you have other items that are the 40v, you don't need to further purchase with the battery.

Good question and I am sure you could find some discount place online somewhere that sells a refurbished one without the battery however, I believe that at home depot the purchase will almost always include the battery and charger. Which if you think about it, a battery costs $129 plus tax so why not purchase another tool with battery for $20 more.

Yes, the battery is usable for all 40v Ryobi series tools. The battery is a workhorse so once you get the battery and charger for one, many people will want to just get the tool without the battery for the second item (and that can only be done on the website, not at the store). Huge savings to just get the tool and not have to buy a second battery you don't need and a completely useless second charger. Read More

I like the blower almost as much as my grass trimmer / edger. Maybe not the 150mph rating they give it however. Read Less

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 166 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst product The blower suggests that it has a lot of power but it doesn't. Also the battery isn't easy to disconnect from the blower. June 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lightweight, powerful The blower is powerful, lightweight and easy to use, battery charges fast and lasts 12-15 minutes of constant use. Great for the patio, deck or RV roof clean off. I like it a lot. May 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfectly Armed for Excellent Yard Work Here are the perfect tools for excellent lawn care: The 40 volt lithium trimmer and the 40 volt lithium blower. The trimmer I bought in the store. The blower I purchased on-line as the 40 volt model was not available in store at the time. I can easily detail trim and edge our home lawn on one battery charge. Light-weight and powerful, I can also trim our lake property of over an acre with one charge. Having both tools with 40 volt lithium batteries enables me to always have back-up power if I need it. The blower velocity is easily regulated by the trigger to blow strongly to pile leaves and grass together or with slight air to create the pick-up pile. July 23, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by http://m.homedepot.com/p/Ryobi-150-mph-150-CFM-40-Volt-Lithium-Ion-Cordless-Blow Works great. No more gas, oil, and pull cords. Does excellent job. May 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by quiet I purchased this with the trimmer. couldnt be more happy with the trimmer. The big advantage of this blower is that it is quiet and doesnt blow the mulch all over the place. The other reviews indicate that the blower lacks power. Well, it isn't as stong and my corded blower that is true. The corded blower is great for cleaning the garage... gets all the dust out. The corded blower is a hassle with extension cords. PLUS, the corded blower is too strong around mulch... shoots the stuff everywhere. I just want the blower to remove the grass clippings on the drive and walk ways. I really like that it is quiet. who needs hearing damage. April 20, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by leaf blower i bought this blower and the battery never last long at all. After 3 months the battery last for 1 minute. i dont recommend this product at all. it works like a product that cost $10.00 worst buy ever. March 12, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by works well for what we wanted we purchased to blow dust and debris out from under the pews in our church. It is faster than a dry mop and more convenient than a corded blower. (not as powerful as a corded blower) Works well for what we wanted February 23, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by No gas No gas, no oil, no pull start, no smell, what more can I say, have the edger and weed walker too, battery lasts till I'm done with the job, thinking of the mower but it's too expensive for me at this time...
