Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by jsmart While convenient, the battery drain makes the product useless for a yard of leaves. I don't have a big yard, but went through a partial and full battery in about 30 minutes of use. One battery came with the blower, another with the grass trimmer I purchased a year ago. I bought the blower only because I already had the trimmer (which has two broken parts in a year of use). So at this point I would recommend no one buy any of the 40v products. Despite their reasonable cost, they are too low quality for more than minimal usage.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by RTQ Bought one of these last Saturday at hd...brought it home, charged it and got about 30 minutes of excellent blowing power before the battery died. Put the battery back in the charger Sun. Night.
When I checked in the morning, the charger was still flashing red green. I tried the battery in the blower and got about 10 seconds of blow before it died. Went back in the charger but six hours later charger was still flashing. Called Ryobi and a tech told me I had a defective battery. Brought entire unit back to HD yesterday am and exchanged it. Brought the new one home and the EXACT same scenario played out. Just called Ryobi and got the same response. Major issues here!!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MikeinWC Have been using 18 volt Ryobi blower. It is good, but a little under powered. Needed more power to blow out gutters between roof and screen room/patio. Roof and screen room create a "v" that causes the gutter to fill with leaves. The leaves will deteriorate into wet mulch. The only way to remove the wet mess was with a trowel or big spoon. This blower handled the leaf mess without having to spoon it out. Very pleased with the power. I'm sure the normal drive way cleaning will be a snap.
The blower is heavy. You can just let it hang on your arm and swing it back and forth to avoid most of the arm fatigue that the extra weight would add. If you have arthritic hands it may not be for you.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by RP Battery doesn't always charge
Worked great out of the box and initial battery charge lasted a total of about 30-45 minutes and has a very easy handle, light weight, powerful air speed. However, once the charge expired, I charged it overnight, and it didn't work, battery still indicated it needed charging. Unplugged, took battery out and plugged back in -several times - all indicating it was charging. Another overnight and still no use. Finally, the third morning, it worked. Not sure why that happened, but I'll keep watching it and if it takes that long each time, I'll return it. If not for that (hopefully) one-time battery issue, I love it!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by MP This is a great blower. Enjoyed it while it worked. However, Im getting ready to take it back for the 2nd time due to a "defective battery or charger" time for something different...

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Meridian Good value. It does the job.
I like the product since I do not have to mess with gasoline, tuneup, and other inconveniences associated with gasoline blower. Most of my needs are of light blowing. As such, this unit is quite satisfactory. There are times I wished it had more power, though.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by claha Ok but the 18 volt is cheaper and as good
We have bought both the 18 volt blower and the 40 volt blower. The power for both is about the same and the run time is about the same. for the Price, the 18 volt is the better purchase.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Thehistorian Poor battery life, just 15 minutes!
I thoughta 40 volt battery would last longer than 15 minutes.
