I picked up this combo pack... The drill works great and has adjustable speeds. The saw works great for small projects but once the battery voltage gets about 18.5 it's pretty much useless and needs to be recharged.
I would suggest you use a fully charged battery when using the saw.. which might be good for a half dozen cuts.
The drill seems to perform better under the lower voltage reading (18.5) but I haven't gotten to the point of checking the voltage when the drill no longer performs.
Overall, I'm happy with the combo... great for those single jobs where you don't want start pulling out extension cables.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by TomInPinole Great value, nice features, Good Starter
For the money the features and performance cannot be matched in anything I have found so far. I really wanted the cordless circular saw, but it was a better deal (now that these tools are sold without the battery and chargers) to get this starter kit which included a drill, circular saw, two batteries (old style) and a charger. I use the circular saw to cut cabinet panels of thin finished plywood, and it works great, the added benefit was the drill which is much stronger and nicer than the high end cordless drill I had. I also like that they support their older batteries and the newer batteries on the same equipment and chargers, a good move.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GOOSE Great kit! The upgraded charger is awsome!
I'm a contractor and these are my tools of choice! The system is perfect for pros and hobbies alike. The quick change on the sawsall is perfect. Just make sure the blades are in snug before using. I cut 2X lumber with the saw. A bit slower than the corded saws, but will do the job. The charger included will charge the Lithium batteries also. I' like the lithium batteries for the tools and nicad for the flashlight, as the nicad runs down it will warn you it is time for a new battery. The lithium batteries run full strength until dead and stop suddenly. Not a nice thing in the dark. Over all a great set. Add the impact driver to complete the set.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by WeekendWARrior85 Excellent, but batteries need some work
Both the drill and the saw have lasted me through dozens of projects now and have been dependable and precise. I was especially impressed by the cutting ability of the small 5 1/2" circular; one would expect it to be much less able to rip 2x4s and 8' plywood. The downfall of this set is the batteries. Their life is short, but their charge is relatively quick. However, unless you plan out to charge batteries/recharge them between when you need them and when you measure, etc. then you will be forced to twiddle your thumbs before you can saw another board. The Li-Ion batteries are much better, but this combo pack is a great deal.

Had to replace my corless tool in mid-project. Money was a factor, but I had faith in Ryobi because I had a CRS121 circular saw that had served me well. The drill is a great little workhorse. The two spirit levels are a great feature for those little buiding projects when you wany to drill holes or drive screws in a straight line in the vertical or horizontal. plenty of power and well balanced. The saw is excellent. Much quieter than my corded saw. Cuts a smooth straight line without a problem. Even with the 18 tooth blade! Thicker lumber may require a bigger saw, but for light projects (plyywood and the like) it works well.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bobs001 Ryobi Tools and Battery
I've had a 7 piece Ryobi combo for 6 years and have been pleasantly surprised with their operation. I was really surprised how well chain saw, circular saw and cutoff saw worked. Batteries have to be replaced about every 2 years with fairly heavy use but the tools keep on working ok. I try to keep 3 good batteries in case have heavy work to do,
Two batteries are about $60, so I usually watch for sales like this (2 batteries) and a couple of tools for only $30 or so more than the price of just the two batteries. In this case, also get a spare charger and a spare drill so can keep bit in one and screw drivr in the other.

This is a pretty good kit for casual DIYers. I am highly impressed with the drill and have found that the magnet below the handle is extremely handy. I have used my drill to build a garage all with screws including dry walled. Built a fence this summer again all with screws and the drill has kept on ticking even after my little 14v BD drill motor burnt out.
The saw however is another story. The manual on this saw says that it will cut a lot more then it actually does. Bought this mainly to use when roofing my garage but after 1 cut the battery drained. There simply isn't enough power to use over a number of cuts. I have since pulled it out a few times to use and always have the same issue. Thus my average rating of 3 for the kit as a whole.

I'm very pleased with this combo. Two battery packs, charger, saw, drill and bag for $99 is great, sometimes on sale for $79 is amazing and you should grab it at either price.
I have had zero issues with either tool or the batteries in a year now of regular use.
Cutting through 2x4s and 2x6s for my garden border was fast and easy. I use this saw far more than my corded 7 1/4" circular saw because it is powerful and convenient.
The drill is powerful and quiet. I like the two speed option as well and the magnet on the handle is a great idea for holding screws.
I think this starter kit is great for most homeowner tasks.
