The specifications clearly describe a battery charge time of 60 minutes, and the description calls out specifically the P115 battery charger. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!!! The combo kit is delivered with the cheaper P111 charger, which is the wall adapter type with the flimsy cord, and this charger (according to the specifications at the Ryobi website) takes 600 minutes to deliver a full charge - that's 10 hours. That wasn't in the deal, folks! The deal was for the 1-hour P115 charger. If you are looking for combo kits with a normal charger, this is NOT the one for you. A competitor, which evidently I am not allowed to mention, has a Porter Cable 18V Combo Kit for a comparable price, and it not only has the sturdy 1-hour charger, but two (2) batteries.

I have owned my Ryobi set for over 10 years. My set was a four piece set because they didn't even have the sander back then. It also came with a hard case. I have dropped my drill off of roofs numerous times and it has never failed me. I will continue to buy Ryobi tools because they are rugged and they last. These people complaining about batteries, just go out and buy the six pack charger and the amount of batteries it takes to fill it. You have saved that much on the tool set to begin with. To say the set lacks just because of batteries is not a fair evealuation, that is batteries, not the tools.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Marc great tools for the price- bad delivery system
Not professional tools by any means, but well built, durable and lot of power. Perfect the the house or odd job. That's the reason I bought this group. For that occasional shelf unit. Second time around, the first set was stolen from my place. Great price, good bang for the buck. The only problem was the silly little battery charger that came with the set. A 12 hour charger???? You then need to go and buy a better charger for 20+ bucks if you want to work properly and not have to wait 12 hours to charge. And this charger has idiot lights that really don't tell you anything. So that is the weakest component.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by AN98 This product is easy to use and of good quality
The tool combo is a good value. The tools are easy to use, and include instructions for operation and maintenance. The ability to use these tools cordlessly is quite convenient. Useful for the novice or the pro.

I have had the Riobi since the first time I saw one advertised by Harbor Freight in the late 80's. Since then I have acquired the set above and nearly every tool in the catalog. I use the tools on a near daily basis on the farm, two houses, and a 4plex. I have had two tool failures in this time, one hammer drill drilling holes for 1/2 inch bolts into concrete and driving about 40 pounds of 3/8 X 8" lags into treated timbers, and the reciprocating saw. I was splitting a 16' trailer frame and it pinched the blade several times before I was done. In the case of the drill, it just smells bad but still works, in the case of the saw, $18.00 got me a new blade clamp. One other, dropped a drill off the roof of the shop, about 20ft onto concrete and broke the battery, drill still works. Since I got mine, my dad, brother-in-law, sister and one daughter have all gotten sets. I have also added the 1/2 inch impact which has made life easier when working on brakes and changing tires especially on the road. I will grant, that the similar products on the market are great products, but the price, quality, and just plain old durability make this set my product of choice for me.

Overall, I am not very happy with this product. With that said, I wasn't really expecting top quality tools. The tools themselves are fine, its just the batteries that are the weak point. This kit comes with one battery, which is enough if you plan on using it for a few minutes here and there. I even went out and bought 2 more batteries (cost me an extra $50) and even then its not enough for what I want to do. I am working on a pretty small project that involves cutting some 2x4's, predrilling holes, and screwing them together. I am constantly taking breaks to let the batteries charge and I charged all of them overnight. It's pretty frustrating, makes everything much more time consuming. If you plan on using the saws, don't buy battery powered ones. It's pathetic how fast the battery drains. That's my 2 cents.

This is a nice kit with all the essentials for a home or amateur builder/ fixer-upper. The tools are sturdy and powerful enough to do most things I need them to do. the only drawback is having only one battery and having to switch it from one tool to the other, but it's also very convenient that the all tools accept the same battery. The drill is pretty strong and the sander works well. It would be nice to have a carry case but it's still a great value.
