Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Russ Picked this up during closeout, and love it!
I picked this hammer drill up during closeout for only $25 and it's performed great. I've drilled up to 1/2 inch holes in rebar reinforced concrete with no issues. The included handle really helps to control the drill and give a bit more pressure during hammer operations. I'll eventually upgrade to one of the green models, but since this tool refuses to die and has more than enough power, it might be a while.

I've had this drill for awhile and it just keeps on amazing me. I have done things with this dill that it was never designed to do and it just shrugs it off and keeps on going. I don't recommend abusing stuff but every time I have thought, lets see if this guy can do it, it just gets it done! I've used it with large 4" hole saws on slow speed. I've drilled 1-3/8" holes in wood studs with a brand new bit on high speed. I'm ashamed to say I've worked it so hard on one occasion that the motor was almost to hot to touch. It is just one tough drill. If I do break it I'll sure get another!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Rick Ryobi - Honest review
I bought this tool 5 years ago for some DYI projects around the house. The hammer option lacks power, but the drill driver portion makes up for it. The only problem I had was with the Nikon Batteries. They only last about 500+ charges and lose life after each charge. I have the Ryobi 5 piece tool set and would only recommend the dril, sander, and flash light. The 18v jigsaw, circular saw, and vacuum lack power and performance. Otherwise this drill is not to bad, surprised it lasted this long I would recommend this to only home owners doing minimal jobs.

After reading the review about the six foot drop and not working properly, I was a bit concerned about purchasing this drill. I decided to take a chance since I don't typically toss my tools around. I used it to drill into a variety of surfaces like block walls, concrete floors, and boards in order to finish my basement. I must say even after accidentally droping the drill from about four feet, it still works great. The side handlebar helps to put a little extra weight into the project. This drill is perfect for the price I paid. Works great and gets the job done.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jackofalltrades Great for the price
I've been looking for a hammer drill as most of my tools use the plus system and this fit the bill, especially since the price came down to $49.00. I haven't used it extensively to say that it will last throughout the years. It's done what I've needed it to do. This will primarily be used only as a hammer drill as I have another Ryobi drill/driver that I'll be using for most jobs.

I have had this drill for about 2 years now and it is awesome. I have never had an issue with it and i use it for many different applications. This drill has all the power that the average user will ever need, I have drilled concrete and put 4 inch screws in solid oak without even a hint of difficulty. I did just have to replace the battery though so count on a battery every 2 years. I did not have to replace it but it was to the point of having to be recharged every 10 minutes and the new batt will go several hours without a charge under normal conditions.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bauernfeind A Bit Heavy
I had another cordless older model before this one and in fact gave it to my daughter. I thought this one would be lighter because as I'm getting older these tools are more difficult to handle but it is not. I also purchased the weed-eater from Ryobi and I'm pleased with that. The varied speed on the drill is very nice, the small magnet is a nice touch, but I think there has to be a better way to tighten the chuck developed.

Our kids bought me this drill because they knew I had to remove and relocate CATV cables in our 144 town house complex. The buildings are stucco over block. I have drilled over 300 holes and this drill makes it a breeze. It is heavy enough to do the job but lighter than most cordless 1/2" Hammer Drill's. It is well balanced and the depth gauge is a great feature when you are drilling a lot of holes that are all the same depth or if you don't want to break through to the other side.
