Customer Questions & Answers

How narrow a space can I use this drill in

Asked by: JimmyG
It depends on the length of the bit you are using. Before you add a bit, the drill head is only 4" or so long. Use a short, stubby bit (I have seen stubby auger bits at some stores) and you can get in pretty tight spaces.

Does it have a low gear or screwdriving clutch?

I'm looking for a stubby right-angle screwdriver that is compatible with a One+ system. Will this do that?
Asked by: Tom
It has a variable speed trigger. You can choose to drill slow or fast.

Yes it's a tool less friction type chuck.

Besides the obvious use in tight spaces, such as between studs, I've also found it easier to use in some situation where one would use a conventional drill, such as ones that would require me to otherwise raise my elbow shoulder high or higher. The light is well positioned. The drill is best used with smaller drill bits but is short on power for some larger drill bits and augers. Also, there is no clutch for regulating torque when driving smaller screws although I haven't found that to be a problem yet. A second speed range and/or an impact driver setting would have made this tool far more versatile.

As with most of the others I have not been disappointed. I haven't had it long enough to make a judgement of its durability but it functions quite well and gets into the places I couldn't go with a normal drill. It has plenty of power and speed to get the job done without dragging a cord around. This is a good tool if you need to drill or drive screws in tight places.

As expected, it was just what was needed to drill into a tight space all of my other drills were too big for. Very comfortable grip, and the LED light was a plus. Controls are placed just right for easy one-hand operation. I can see me using this tool often, even when the space is big enough for a standard drill. This tool more than met my expectations.

Will drill 2" holes with a hole saw type cutter in wood framing. Would be perfect if it had a low range setting(2 speed gearing). If the chuck capacity were 1/2" or slightly larger than 3/8" many more hole cutter arbors would be usable. It has held up well with moderate use. I use it for electrical work in home construction drilling in tight spaces in mostly wood.

I am retired and did not want a heavy 120 volt side post drill to install the wiring. I am installing the electrical in my house and garage. The drill works great. It is light weight and is fast drilling through the top plate and drilling through horizontal header supports. i would and already have recommended to others. the price was great also.

I purchased this because my regular drills would not fit in the tight space I needed them to fit in. It works perfectly fine as a drill but I find it oddly shaped and cumbersome to use. Granted, I've never used a right angle drill before. I would like to see a right angle impact made as well.

I bought this to go with the 6 pc Ryobi set I already have (light, recip saw, circular saw, driver, drill, multitool) that I am pleased with (except the drill chuck I wish was keyed to tighten better) Right angle drill drove screw fine & drilled small holes fine. Not tried on large hole yet

I needed to drill self-tapping screws for mounting clamps into a thick metal frame rail and worried this would lack the torque or speed. Not so. Wish the direction switch was smaller and the trigger higher though.
