Customer Questions & Answers

Can I use this on a fence

Asked by: Sandy
You could, but it's not the best solution. I don't think you'll be able to find corrosion resistant brads (stainless or galvanized), and the nail heads on these are minimal. You'd be much better off getting a framing nailer and using 2" nails for the slats and 3-1/2" nails for the rails.

Could you use this gun to nail 3/4in plywood sub floor. Also to nail 1/2 plywood to plywood sub floor

Asked by: Adam
An 18 gauge brad is usually used for finish work, not subfloors. The fastener will be too light duty.

This is perfect although a little heavier than what I'm used to but it is a way to build more muscle!!! I am a "senior" person and woodworking is a hobby. I like the idea of the battery being very easy to remove and the same with the section to remove/add the nails....and it is partly an air gun without the hose etc. Cordless...how sweet is that? It takes a variety of nail sizes from 5/8" up to 2". All the other corded or cordless nail guns went to 5/8 inch. Can't nail down much with that now can you? A great addition to my shop tools.

Haven't had this very long, but it has already been put to work with a couple of small "fix-its" around the house. It worked as expected with no surprises or problems. Only time will tell how it holds up and how the battery lasts, but I'm hopeful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought this tool to build heavy duty lattice trellises... I bought this tool to build heavy duty lattice trellises for my wife's vining plants. I had to build them as any lattice panels that are available didn't meet my required dimensions. This battery operated brad nailer really sped up the assembly process. I shot 1000 brads with zero missed strikes or jams on 3 battery charges. If I would have hammered that many brads by hand it would have stretched my project into days instead of one day. The Ryobi power brad nailer is intuitively simple to use and for being a bit bulky, it is a fairly ergonomic design. The grip safety turns on the leds and the firing trigger is light enough that it doesn't make your hands tired after many strikes. This tool is pretty efficient as well with a battery charge setting an average of over 300 3/4" brads.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nail gun So far I have been installing baseboard. I have one bad arm and so am not able to nail anything but this nail gun is very easy to use. Very low impact. The directions for putting in the nails were just a little confusing and I recommend any first time users to experiment with the settings. But I very pleased with the results

Used a neighbor's Dewalt and li liked it,but seemed bulky. While at Home Depot buying more nails for the Dewalt I saw the Ryobi and purchased it. So far it is performed better than expected only time will tell

The pressure setting is trial and error, but it was responsive and effective. Was pleased to see it easily drove 2-inch brads into hardwood. I'm very satisfied. Good price too.

Back off the power setting and it seems to work. The unit with battery is significantly heavery than my pneumatic brad nailer. hopefully I get used to that.
