Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by gfb500 Nice Tool!
Chose this because it works with my Ryobi tool kit and it has a suction/deflate feature. Also likes that has a place to store the different tips for the inflator. Had to work a little to figure out the steps for setting the inflation level. Also, I had to set the inflation level about a 1 lb. more to get what felt like a full basketball. This unit was about twice as much as a plug-in inflator, but being portable and the other features makes it a good value. Especially if you already have the Ryobi One system.

It may seem contradictory that I give this tool a “good” rating but don’t recommend it (as it is). This inflator-deflator does what I wanted it do: inflate a car tire. The big minus: the valve clamp on the inflator hose is secured by a screw that may have been cut to fit the clamp, causing an exposed sharp end of the screw which in turn can cause a laceration to the finger of someone removing the after the tire is inflated (as happened with me). The clamp fits very tightly to the valve, and it takes more than one tug to remove the hose. The natural grip on the clamp to remove it from the valve brings the user’s forefinger against the sharp end of the screw end. A cap nut on the end of the screw, or simply using a machined screw of the proper size might have alleviated this small but significant hazard (because the user will always be tugging on the clamp to remove the hose). I remedied the situation by filing down the end of the screw and also wrapping the entire screw with electrical tape (see picture). Being able to use a battery gives the user freedom to position the inflator as needed to inflate a tire, rather than be constrained by a cord (whether AC or DC). Of course, the user still has to make sure the battery is fully charged (or a spare is available) because the battery would need a charger (which would need an AC outlet) if it needs to be recharged. With the inflator, I was able to add a couple pounds of air to a car tire in about a couple of minutes. The included digital pressure gauge appears to be accurate when compared to a conventional stick pressure gauge. The instructions included with the inflator advises users to stand away when the inflator is attached and in operation, and to observe the pressure gauge readout as the tire is inflated. The digital readout is fairly small, however (the window is probably less than a half-inch and the digits would be smaller, perhaps 3/8 of an inch or smaller) so how far you can stand away may depend on your eyesight. Rocker switches on either side of the readout turn on and off the inflator or deflator (one side is for low-pressure inflatables and the other side is for high-pressure inflatables like tires). The design puts the battery directly on the bottom of the unit, with a handle on the top and hoses on two ends (one side for low-pressure and the other hose for high pressure), with the readout in the middle. The design gives this unit good balance and stability. I only hope that Ryobi will fix the screw problem, and also make the high-pressure inflator hose easier to detach.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by FKingPSUCE High pressure is little slow, but it does what's promised.
I've used both the high pressure and high volume outlets several times. The high pressure was used for 4 tires which had all dropped to about 20 psi. Going from 20 to 34 psi, seemed to take quite a while, but I realized this isn't a gas station air pump dedicated for tire inflation. The high volume side is great for beach balls, air mattresses, etc. I would definitely recommend this as a primary pump for the high volume items, and as a backup for high pressure things like topping off tires. The portability can not be beat.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by StinkyPete Pretty great for the money!
The pump seems to be well made and assembled. Since I already have several batteries from my other Ryobi products I bought the bare tool. I used it all weekend to inflate and deflate floats for our river float, as well as to top of two sets of vehicle tires, one set on a Ford Taurus ad the other on a Ram HD truck, all with the same battery, and I still have battery left. I used the standard battery that comes in the drill/driver set so I do't think that I would ever need to use my extended capacity battery for this unit. My only complaint is that the digital gauge measures about 1 P.S.I. low when filling tires, but not a huge thing, I always use a tire gauge to double check my tires.

Digital pressure gauge totally inaccurate, have to max out the setting to 150 in order to get the unit to run
