Answer:
It has one LED bulb, that does both the high and low settings.
There are other lanterns by other manufacturers that have three LEDs and are brighter, but cost a lot more, and eat up expensive alkaline D-cells. Using these rechargeable lithium batteries that also work in a whole bunch of other tools avoids that. For my purposes (emergency lighting when the power is out, etc.), 130 lumens is great.

This light only has one LED bulb in it. However, it is fairly bright. I would like to see more on the next generation. Maybe they could be CREE LEDs too.

It has one very bright led. It has 2 settings, low and high. The battery is the standard Ryobi one+.
One word of warning though, don't look directly at it while on the high setting. It's VERY bright

There are several battery chargers available from a single battery charger to a six station battery charger.
There is also an AM/FM radio that will charge the batteries.
Personally I like the AM/FM radio it is more than a battery charger its portable entertainment.

Answer:
The "27 hour" based on my experience would be on low. The actual run time will vary based on battery size, battery age and which charger was used to charge the battery. At best, the run duration is an estimate or indicator.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 150 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great purchase We already have Ryobi tools, and along with them, have upgraded to stronger batteries. This light/lantern type, uses those batteries, as does the next one up of the three lights. We bought this before the hurricane to have an extra lantern type. It is bright enough with the LED lights to set in a room, and use to move through your house when power is out. Even without losing power, we have already used it to look in some corners under furniture for our cat's toys. While a regular heavy duty flashlight is great, this so much brighter and uses the rechargeable batteries we already have on standby. I always register the warranty and have Ryobi account set up. Even though a receipt will do for warranty, if you register these products, and others, you can be assured of a notice if there is a recall for a product, just as with your vehicle. Ryobi has a great, easy to use website. October 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Absolutely great light!!!!! I bought this light as a cool (LED) area light. In case of power outage. This light will run > 5 days on a single 4ah lithium battery. Perfect for extended power outages. I really give it********** ten stars October 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great light, needs to be brighter though. This is a great little light. It works great as a camping light. It does have issues in dim lighting, the led is not powerful enough to light up the area in dim light but in low light it's great. October 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by works well and has two settings for dim or bright October 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Light! This little light is a lot brighter than I thought it would be. It did a great job of lighting up a dark attic so I could get work done. I seemed to be easy on the battery too. October 11, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by not very bright, only $20 bucks It's not very bright, but it's good for camping or emergency power out. My Milwaukee lantern M12 is brighter on its lowest setting than the ryobi. September 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great camping light Use this light for RV and hurricane preparation. Have several for camping and I don't have to buy any batteries because I have many accessories by RYOBI. September 27, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Roni lantern. Only 4 stars because it just isn't as bright as I hoped September 20, 2016
