What is the power rating of this battery.

How much energy in amp-hours does the battery store?
Asked by: Woodworker
They are labeled 24 Wh (watt-hours.) Considering that they are 18 volts, that's 1.33 Ah (amp-hours.)

Warranty for Compact Battery P102

Hi. I purchased a couple of these batteries with a charger in a tool package last year. One of the batteries already reads defective when I put it in the charger. I haven't used it all that much, so it seems that it should not even be close to being used up yet. The life of this battery in months seems much less than even a NiCd one plus battery. Does it have any sort of warranty or replacement options? Thanks.

How long does the lithium battery last that comes with the RYOBI weedeater?

The manual says how long it takes to charge but does not say how long it will last with continual use. Mine stopped in about 20 minutes or less which is clearly not enough time.
Asked by: gardener
I recently purchased the least expensive ryobi weed eater with a p102 battery. I get 20 minutes of runtime(maybe a bit more, don't want to exaggerate) cutting down very thick/tall weeds and grass. This is excellent runtime IMO considering how much work is getting done. With the 4 AH battery it runs longer than I want to use it. Lol

It was used for one season. Today when I went to charge the battery, the charger light repeatedly indicates the charger is testing the battery. Eventually the light on the charger indicates the battery is defective. This is after approximately 20 uses. A quick Google search shows I am one of many people who got skunked by Ryobi battery issues. The blower cost me $60.00, a new battery will cost me $40.00. This is the same business model that printer companies use. Give away the printer and make a mountain of cash off of ink. In this case, the mountain of cash is being made off of replacement batteries. The blower went into the trash and the battery will be recycled. And there will never be another Ryobi product in my home.

My battery died after 2 years, it has a 3 year warranty but they will not honor it without the receipt, Batteries that came with tools will be honored based on their serial number and the tools serial number. Even though the battery has a date code to let them know it's age. So you need to keep your batteries and tool serials numbers together and receipts if you buy just the battery. Home Depot could not look up the receipt because the credit card has changed,

These batteries take a beating and keep a good life cycle as long as the proper procedures are followed for maintaining a storage charge. The instructions should be followed and are included with the battery. Ryobi have the best battery values out there.
