No mention of it in the "Overview" tab. But the Specifications tab says "yes", however it also says that it takes 600 minutes to charge. Is this some sort of trickle /slow charger? (i.e. Get a charger but it is not the fast charger most people expect.)

Exactly, it is a slow charger not the regular one one you would expect to get with a starter kit.

Answer:
This drill does come with a small battery charger. I haven't timed the charge but have left it plugged up overnight and its fully charged and ready for use. Charge seems to last a good while too. You can get a separate rapid charger for about $30 but I found that the included charger works fine for my needs.

Yes, it comes with a trickle charger. The box itself does not identify the charger model # because Ryobi has shipped this kit with two different chargers!
Some kits contain the blue P116 dual chemistry IntelliPort charger, which is large enough to "click" on the stem of a One+ battery. The wall wart is rated 12W on this charger.

Other kits contain the green P119, which is the smallest 18v charger Ryobi has ever made (even smaller than the P111). The P119 is a dual chemistry charger, but does NOT have the IntelliPort feature. The wall wart on this model is rated 7W.
I presume the P116 is a faster trickle charger, given that the power draw is 70% greater. Read Less

I answered this question, but found I was wrong. I just bought the drill, and there is a charger in the box, but it's a Model P119, which states in its Operator's Manual: "Charges battery packs in as little as 8 hours, depending upon the type of battery pack." So, you are correct in your statement. Sorry for the error - I too was expecting a different charger, but it's probably not going to make much Read More

So, you are correct in your statement. Sorry for the error - I too was expecting a different charger, but it's probably not going to make much difference. Once charged, the battery will last much longer than the Ni-Cad one, and the charger has a 'standby' mode that will top off the battery if it's on the charger, but not in use. That 'should' be OK. Of course, like a lot of us, I already have a battery-operated drill like this one, so I can just swap out and use it while the Li-ion battery is charging..... Read Less

You need to set up "Your Store". Go through the Store Finder to select from stores in your area. "Your Store" will appear at the top left corner of the webpage. When you pull up an item it will show quantities available at your store or give you the option to check other stores. See screen shot attached.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.6 out of 5 by 9 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Value Engineered away much of the Value They have value engineered this to keep the $39 price point, the drill is reasonable, and the battery is your regular Ryobi compact battery. The charger however, is "cheap" in a bad way. There is a brick that plugs into the wall (the kind that takes up more than one outlet), and then a very thin wire from the brick to a small plastic "cap" that fits on the battery. I have plenty of ONE+ drills, so bought this mainly for another Lithium charger; and was disappointed. The other thing that I am a bit disappointed in is that the drill doesn't have a molded slot for the bit to fit into, but rather just has a magnetic tray, that usually you would use for screws, etc; that the bit can just be set down on. I much prefer the older models that would have a molded piece of plastic and a thin strip of metal to positively hold onto the bit. November 29, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by There are better drills out there Mine shuts off if you put it under any kind of load. Seems like there is a thermal cut-off inside either the battery or the drill. Perhaps there is something wrong with mine, but it shuts off even under moderate loads. Also, the chuck does a poor job of holding the drill bits. It's hard to tighten the keyless chuck enough to keep the bit from spinning, and sometimes it's difficult to untighten even when it's not tight enough to hold the bit in place. The chuck on my previous blue Ryobi drill worked much better. I think Iwill try another brand next time... they seem to have cheapened the design. June 12, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by OK but... I just received this dill today, and checked it out. It does seem to have more torque than the other drills that I have, but the first thing that I noticed was that there is no spot light. I really thought that was a given these days, but it's only a minor inconvenience. The charger is the cheaper one, but heck the drill is inexpensive and so is a good value for the price. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great value Bought this because my battery went from the Ryobi set I bought a couple of years ago. Wanted to upgrade to the Lithium battery. Buying the reconditioned model was cheaper than a battery and charger for the Lithium battery. The drill has more torque than my other Ryobi AND, it wasn't the battery that went bad but the charger, so I have a backup battery now as well. November 19, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good value product, Have not used it yet,, got for x-mas, battery charging now, does hold a 1/2 inch bit, felt like a lot of torque with the partial new charged battery in. This replaces my many years old Craftsman that the batteries are too old and costly too replace. Will likely buy the flashlight acc. to go with it. December 27, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by battery stopped working used it twice battery stopped working. :( Got it for Christmas hope they will return it?? May 24, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love, Love, Love my new Ryobi drill! I've been looking for a new drill for some time now and was so happy to run across this deal. Got it at a great price and it has so much more power than my old 9v Ryobi drill. Ryobi is an awesome product! December 26, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ad is a bit confusing - but so is the box The drill is first rate. It has more torque than the previous versions, and is smaller and lighter than them also. A great alternative to the more expensive battery tools from Milwaukee and Makita. Go for it. The battery charger is a different story. I saw the ad for this 'exclusive purchase' for Black Friday, but it wasn't clear whether a charger was included in the box: the description didn't say, but the specifications said one was. When I went to the store, the front of the box didn't say either, but the BACK of the box said one was. So, I asked a clerk to open the box, and there IS a charger. HOWEVER, the charger is a model P119, which isn't a rapid charger. According to its Operators Manual, it will charge "... battery packs in as little as 8 hours, depending on the type of battery pack." Of course, since the lithium ion battery will power the drill longer, this may not be much of a drawback to us occasional users. Those planning on heavy use, however, may be better off to buy the larger battery pack with its charger. Remember, you can't charge the lithium ion batteries in the Ni-Cad battery charger, but the reverse is true. November 29, 2013
