When I purchased my cordless 6 pack, it came with 3 batteries. Since then I have bought 4 more of these newer ones. All four have died and I am still using 2 of my original (all black) batteires. I realize that to keep the prices low they had to use lesser quality parts, but at least give me the option to buy a better quality battery. I have most of the one plus line-up and am satisfied with their quality and performance versus cost. My concern is that once my two old batteries go, my tools will be less useful due to the available batteries.
I gave it one extra star because of the price.

I am very happy with Ryobi products. I have nearly the entire lineup. My original batteries (the all black ones) that came with my multi pack are totally useless. They worked well for about a year.
I purchased a jigsaw with battery and charger. This battery (with the yellow) is much superior quality than the batteries that were all black. Soon afterward I purchased this product (the dual battery pack) and they to are superior to my original batteries.
I now only use my newer batteries and will be disposing of the older ones.

Once upon a time they packaged some high-quality batteries with the Ryboi tools. I still have one of my original batteries--eight years old and still usable. These newer batteries don't last. I bought this 2-pack 2 years ago. A year later, they seemed to need a lot of charging. Now, they go completely dead, even if unused, within a week of being fully charged. I don't use them heavily, just DIY for weekend projects.

I had older yellow and black plain batteries, they lasted a year and a half and then they will accept about half a charge and will die if not used right away.I also bought a combi kit late 2006 and it has the One+ batteries.I have had to replace one earlier in 2007 and now the other one is done[ they won't even try charging ]I guess for the $ they are ok.The tools are a great bargain for the DIY.

"I gave this product 2 stars due to the life of the Batteries the Yellow /Black ones in the last 5 years i have gone through 7 batteries and would recomend going with the new Lithium for better Batterie life. When using these batteries with Reciprocasting saw or Skillsaw the batteries would only last for about 4-5 minuts or one - 2 cuts , far short of the job that was planned."

The one plus batteries work great, there is enough power to finish a job without running
for a fresh one. So far I only have the work light and a hammer drill but I plan to purchase most of the one+ system tools.

I like the idea of being able to buy all cordless items and accessories as you need them. Good bang for your buck!

Bought my first Ryobi One+ drill 4 years ago. It was GREAT! Seemed to run forever on a charge. Those two batteries will no longer hold a charge and went to the Home Depot battery recycling service last week. Two years ago I bought more Ryobi tools with 2 more batteries. Had those replaced once under warranty and those replacements are now practically useless. I do not recommend these batteries and have replaced them with high capacity lithium. Ryobi One+ was an excellent deal for the money but if you need to buy $100 each batteries to keep them going? If I were to do it again would I buy this tool system? I would do a lot more comparison shopping.
