How loud is it?
Asked by: Curious
Personally I expected it to be a little noisy, but being in a condo and having to take my neighbors ears into consideration, I just couldn't do it. If you are outside or in a garage, it's not a problem whatsoever.

18-Volt ONE+ Power Inflator (Tool-Only) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 606.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best overall tool for mobile inflation needs I've been trying to figure out the best solution to my mobile inflator needs when I stumbled across this Ryobi inflator. This fits my needs perfectly so far. My wife and I camp out quite often using our truck and travel trailer. The truck has air bag suspension to help with leveling when towing our camping trailer. Altogether we have 9 truck tires and the two air bags which can need airing during our trips in wilderness areas where there are no services. When I disconnect from the trailer I want to reduce the air bag pressure for a better ride, then reinflate the bags when I reconnect the trailer (tongue weight around 450 pounds needs about 25 lbs air bag pressure to ride level). This Ryobi inflator is the complete answer. Its small so it stows easily and since I have other Ryobi tools using One+ system I have extra batteries and chargers. Before we leave on a trip I make sure I have two charged batteries and no more worries about needing to pump air bags or flat tires (I also carry a tire emergency tire patch/plug kit so I can repair and reinflate without having to use my spare tire). I used to carry a small protable generator and small air compressor with hoses and fittings but that strategy, while it works well, is expensive, heavy, combersome, and requires keeping track of all the pieces such as tire gage, air chucks, hoses, etc.. If you want something simple, inexpensive, light weight and easy to stow in your trailer or vehicle this is the tool to buy. I also plan to take this with me on trips with our Harley Davidson trike. If you have a flat on a motorcycle you really have problems getting to a service station (no spare tire) this this should save me if that ever happens. The only small change I'd make to this product is a trigger lock out. It has a hair trigger so I have to always remember to remove the battery so it doesnt run accidentally while I'm driving and its stored in my trailer.

Ok for work work truck tire in a pinch. Gage works good doesn't vibrate like the one I have that plugs into the cigarette lighter. I would purchase again.

I knew if it worked well and the gauge was accurate, I would get a lot of use out of this. This has to be one of the best Ryobi buys I've made! I've already used it several times, for soccer balls, bike tires, and I even had to fix a flat on my wife's Dodge Caravan, so I jacked her up, plugged the tire, and used this bad boy to air it right back up. Perfect! I no longer need the old portable compressor that I had to plug into the cigarette lighter outlet in the car and mess with cords and all the hassle that goes with that! The Ryobi was actually faster than my cheapo little Sears compressor too. Glad I bought this and will be using it a lot!

I would like to say this is truth in advertising . . . finally. However, I have come to expect excellent quality from RYOBI products. Yes, I have quite a few items and I am enjoying them all. As a single woman and home owner, I am sometimes in the position of having to effect repairs myself. These tools have helped me through some rough patches. And the best part, they are easy to use. So no fumbling with the drill because my hands are smaller than those of a man. I would definitely recommend RYOBI products to all self-doers who are looking for the right tool at the right price.

I like the portability. The following are my reccomendations for Ryobi to improve it: The gauge isn't calibrated so you have to use an accurate tire pressure gauge. It also does not have an auto shut off. But it does air up tires quickly.

This pump is good for pumping small things like bicycle tires, balls, balloons or topping off a car tire within 2 psi from where it should be. Otherwise, holding the trigger down for bigger inflation jobs is tiring and too time consuming. It's too bad Ryobi does not trust owners (liability issues maybe?) to use and provide a trigger hold feature (like my router has) since this pump needs it. The inflation gauge dial could use a target pressure ring like my bicycle hand pump has. Since I have the bigger and more functional (set & forget pressure target) Ryobi dual inflator, I can take care of the bigger jobs with that.

As soon as I saw this product I knew I wanted one, and I'm sure that anyone that owns a vehicle with tire pressure sensors will understand why. The idea of just grabbing this to add a few psi to my tires rather than dragging out the compressor or heading to the gas station was attractive. The tool does what it's supposed to. You can add air quickly and easily. The reason for 3 stars is the integral pressure gauge. Couldn't be less accurate. I still would have bought this tool if it didn't have the gauge, but if it's there it should work, and accurately at that. Poor execution of a great idea Ryobi...

I was drawn to this after seeing a commercial for the Air Hawk compressor, but at $60 + another $15 for shipping and handling, that was quite an expense for a compressor. Unable to find any positive reviews (seemed it was subject to long shipping delays) I looked to see what else was out there. Ryobi popped up, and since I already owned a Ryobi drill, plus a charger and two batteries, it seemed ideal. Reviews were a little hard to decypher, so I decided to just buy this and see for myself. Bought one yesterday and just tried it a few minutes ago. I had two bicycles with totally deflated tires, and it was able to inflate each tire in less than 30 seconds, probably less since I didn't time it. I am totally impressed with the Ryobi Power Inflator, and highly recommend it. It's a great buy at only $20 if you already own Ryobi batteries and a charger.
