Product Overview

RYOBI introduces the very first cordless consumer sprayer to use a reversible spray tip, the ProTip is here. The design of the ProTip allows the user to rotate the tip 180 degrees to clear clogs quickly and rotate back 180 degrees to continue spraying. Now you can achieve the professional results you want at a price that is more affordable. The 1.5qt quick lock container easily locks into place to help prevent spills and allows longer time between re-fills. ProTip is ideal for painting or staining decks, fences, garage doors, cabinets, closet doors, trim, storage sheds or outdoor furniture. Part of the 50+ 18V ONE+ System of tools.

18 Volt ONE+ ProTip Speed Sprayer is rated 3.1 out of 5 by 118.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to Use, clears clogs quickly and great tool It is easy to handle, follow the directions to ensure you don't over fill the container and ensure you have enough paint to allow the paint sprayer to perform as designed. I used the pro power paint sprayer to paint my bench I made. In the past I have used brush and rollers, this was by far quicker to get the job done. Then new reversable tip made clearing the clog quick and easy. I am a hands on and love to see visuals. I would like to see a quick start guide included, but other than that small sugguestion. I am very satisfied with my pro power spray painter. It is like any other tool, you must take care of it by cleaning it. The brushes and oil includes made the clean up job easier.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Continuously drips I am a strong believer in Ryobi products and have used them for many years but something was very wrong using this sprayer. I spent over 3 hours trying to work with it trying to spray properly and not drip. Finally returned it to Home Depot the next day embarrassed since it looked as though I had used the sprayer over 6 months. I still think Ryobi is a good value on their products and their quality but the engineers have to take another look at this one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Every homeowner or DIYer should own one. The Ryobi 18v ProTip Sprayer is an excellent product and I would recommend it for any homeowner or DIYr. 7 years ago I painted the entire outside of my house with Behr Ultra paint but I applied it using brushes and rollers. The paint looked great and held up well but the task was extremely labor intensive doing it with brushes and rollers. I recently had to remove an old window and resized the opening for a standard size window. I ended up having to redo and repaint a section of siding. I purchased a new gallon of Behr Ultra exterior paint but this time I applied it using the ProTip Sprayer. The job was extremely easy to do with the sprayer and the results were great. I set up the ProTip on a piece of scrap wood and put all the items I needed to do the task on a couple of saw horses. I tightened all the fittings prior to the test run. However, there existed some dripping. The drip issue was solved easily by applying some plumbers tape to the male threads for the locking nut located on the front of the housing. This worked well and I no longer had any leakage. The Ryobi Sprayer is still considered a tool and should be cleaned , maintained and stored properly like any other quality tool. Taking a little time to soak the parts in warm water and soap. Brush all parts with the cleaning brush included with the sprayer making sure to add a few drops of oil on the piston shaft. I compared cleaning the paint sprayer to cleaning a small firearm. If you want it to give you good results always take the time and clean it, store it and maintain it like you would an expensive gun.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from better than i thought after the 1st try I almost took it back.....paint dripping and leaking everywhere.........took it apart and reassemble correctly and now it works like it is suppose to with great spray and no's easy to get it put back together so that it is a train wreck of paint everywhere, but if you take your time and follow the instructions it works our doors and trim look great and our deck only took an afternoon to paint instead of two full weekends.....get another tool with a battery so you have two.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor 1st Impression - but want it to work! Just tried today for the first time - out of the box new with two extra batteries purchased since you only get one. Spraying BEHR outdoor latex. Charged all batteries with sprayer provided charger overnight. Numbered them #1 (came with the unit) and (2,3 - those that came in the two pack.) Alll of the batteries are Lithium Ion. Sprayed the first 1.5 quarts, I had to clean the tip via reversing it at least 10 times. This was after extensive stirring but not thinning the latex. The tip needs to be screwed on tightly to not drip/leak but at that tension both the tip and its seat have score marks from the 10+ swivel movements. This tip is too soft - and now given the scoring will likely spit paint no matter how tight the tip is attached to the pump. All within the first 1.5 quart. Cleaning takes 20 minutes, and there are some areas you'll never get clean. For instance, the top of the cup is embossed with safety / instructions in 6pt type within black plastic. No one could ever read this type, but it creates enough pits within the top of the paint cup to never get clean. Why does the top of the cup have paint on it? Because the sprayer spits and drips. The rest cleaned okay, just takes more time then 10 minutes. The first battery ran out of power prior to the first 1.5 qt of paint being used. The sprayer stops hard - like the Lithium Ion battery power curve. No click or reduced power, just all - then nothing. It will be a juggle of battery packs I suspect to get through a gallon of paint. The tip guard catches paint spray, and the plastic is very poorly molded to the tip. Safety at the expense of quality. I like the price, Hate the tip and seat. I'm going to see if I can get those replaced and try one more time. I know other tips will fit. Best to loosen the tip from the pump then pivot it to clean the tip, but you shouldn't have to. If I can't get new tips to work without scoring, then I guess I need to spend more money on a better unit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Problems With Primers I've been a boat builder for many years with countless hours spraying, rolling, brushing and tipping. My house needed an interior repaint and I bought this gun because I've always liked their products. The tip kept fowling with the Killz primer I tried, then with the Behr. I tried remixing, thinning, but no luck. Then I tried it with the Behr interior latex and it did a proper job. I was pretty frustrated about the gun not able to prime--the main reason I bought it. I did try primer one last time and I put the gun away--no luck.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Maybe I am crazy! o.k so it leaks, it constantly gets clogged, the battery lasts ten minutes. But that's not all! Act now and after a couple uses it will not spray at all! I called customer service and told him this is a problem that there are numerous negative reviews about the same same things and his response was " if you sent it to our techs they would have it working in ten minutes" I told him I hope so! They are trained to trouble shoot and fix problems! I am not I follow instructions that ryobi gave me, DO NOT BUY!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Save time and complete your project with better quality This little thing is great. I used it to stain a 300sq ft deck with Tranlucent stain. It turned out beautiful. It looks as if I had a professional painter complete it. I love that it is rechargable so you don't have to drag a cord around. I did have to charge it twice to complete my project with 2 coats.
