I had much higher hopes, but the reviews are correct. This radio truly has the worst sound quality imaginable. It looks sturdy and durable, and the fact that it uses the one+ batteries are a definite plus. However putting this on the lawn and doing roofing won't work - you won't be able to hear it. The boomy popping speakers can't even be played at top volume as the low budget speaker distortion just compromises any functionality. Furthermore, it would be nice if the controls would control my iPhone music, like a car will. Also it does not come with a battery. I had some but including one for $150 (with tax) would have nice. Thanks anyways, but it's going back to home depot.

Good worksite radio with Phone/mp3 capabilities. I am on my second exchange. The power supply quit on my first one after 2 months. The charger quit on my second one after 2 months. My third unit is in shipping now.
I did not have audiophile expectations from a worksite unit as others have stated (WTH are you thinking). I do expect it to function beyond 2 to 3 years of light use(let alone 2 months). I have several other Ryobi 18V tools that I use every weekend, so I do desire this format. I bought a couple of LION batteries to upgrade my collection so I needed the mixed chemistry charger. I really hope this one works out because I am fond of its performance and capabilities.

I was excited to bring this home to see what all it had to offer and after a weekend of play I was disappointed. First thing I noticed at low volume there was a lot of feedback turn the volume up and it goes away. But I got the feedback again when I was using the USB to charge my phone. The speakers did not have great clarity my biggest con with this device. The aux port itself is not detachable so if it breaks I'm guessing your out of luck. I returned the stereo and will look back after a couple gens I would like to see a lot of upgrades small ones that would make a big difference

I bought my first one in January, radio had no sound two months later. Exchanged for a new one and second radio had no sound one month later. Exchanged for a third and third radio quit in two weeks. Now they seem to be unavailable. All three of my radios never even left my home and when I returned them to the store they still looked brand new. I take very good care of my tools. Hopefully they come out with a newer version so I can have music while I work. I need a radio that works AND charges 18v Ryobi Lithium batteries.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bigmoose Good but not great
I am happy that there is no hiss that comes from the speakers at any time with my radio. Sound quality from the radio is good but not great. A friend of mine plugged in his Ipod on my radio to test that and I was impressed with the sound quality at that time. I think radio reception suffers a little while a battery is charging. It plays for about 5 hours for me on my P103 batteries. The radio is a little on the heavy side and a little bigger than black and yellow ones that you see at many jobsites. Overall I am happy with this purchase and would recommend to others.

My son received this for xmas (9yrs Old). I also purchased the the 18v drill and impact with the p103 battery for myself. The $49 old style blue\yellow drill/circular saw was purchased just for the p100 battery for his radio. I spoke to the Milwaukee guy there with the red shirt and truck parked outside. I was'nt sure which radio I was going to get, he told me it made 22 watts. the manual states 14 watts. He informed me about this company owning Ryobi also. The main issue with the radio is that nowhere in the manual or display does it state stereo sound. It definitely plays with a better sound with the mp3 player. i would not have purchased if it does not have stereo sound. overall my son loves it, the reception seems ok.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by SWIT Takes a licking but short on ticking.
Purchased product to provide music in a booth at an antique show. The fully charged 18vt lithium battery lasted 3 hours. This would be a good job site radio provided you had a constant 120vt supply and the charger would maintain your tool batteries. The sound is pretty good but with heavy bass.
One drawback is a constant hiss from the speakers when playing at low volume. This gets drowned out at louder volume. I returned the unit without incident from HD friendly staff. I purchased a mp3 player from another vendor with a 10 hr rechargeable battery more suited to my needs.

This unit's "smart" charger charges all my Ryobi ONE+ 18V batteries in about an hour. I only have Lithium batteries so I cannot speak to the charging time on the NiCd batteries. I leave a spare battery in the radio and leave the radio plugged in so that I always have a charged battery ready to go.
I like how the radio will run on the battery when it is not plugged into the wall. The radio sounds great with a good amount of bass. I noticed that I must turn the volume up all the way on my MP3 player and smart phone when I listen to music using the external input jack. Otherwise, the music sounds too quiet.
Many of the new phones today are too big to fit in the storage compartment and must be set on top of the unit when you connect them for music or charging. I would like to see blue tooth connectivity added to future generations of this unit.
I can see where this unit would be useful in a power outage. You can have a charged battery ready to go for the radio or flashlight.
