Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 53 reviewers.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Gearing problems when used on high speed setting. I own nine Ryobi One+ pieces so I'm a user and a supporter. I like the drill but I use it only when I need the hammer function. It's heavier than my other Ryobi One+ (standard) drill and the one I have now is a replacement for the first one which had internal gearing (transmission) failure driving drywall screws for a day or two. The problem was related to the brake (quick stop) function. The drill has a lot of torque and unwinding it in a hurry (when you release the trigger) from high speed use appears to take a toll on the gearing inside. I still like Ryobi and am a Home Depot loyalist as a result. The replacement hammer drill has not given me any problems yet but I have used it sparingly. I suspect that I'll be even happier with the line up (I'm looking at you, circular saw) once I have completed upgrading to the compact lithium batteries. November 12, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by ryobi drills & saws, hammerdrills i love my Ryobi drills and saw, i have been threw many a project with my Ryobi drill and saw kit and they just keep taking my abuse...i have bought many of the other drill sets and they just don't last. i find the torque really good, the weight for battery life and reliability excellent .i will continue to buy these Ryobi drills .nice hammer action.. Ongbotter's 2 thumbs up......and a big OH yah. May 26, 2010
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice drill I have used this drill for typical household reno work and it performs really well. no problem drilling into the concrete foundation, bricks or mortar on our typical house. The only fault I have with this drill and the conventional drill/driver is that the bits sometimes loosen as you can only hand tighten the chuck, otherwise a good tool. December 26, 2008
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great battery life, good hammer setting I have to agree that the chuck tends to loosen while drilling, but battery life is great and the hammer setting works well. Buy this instead of the standard Ryobi 18V; it is only slightly larger and costs just slightly more. You'll be glad when you need the hammer function. I suspect it also has a bit more torque. Rated 4 out of 5 by Great for the price I've been looking for a hammer drill as most of my tools use the plus system and this fit the bill, especially since the price came down to $49.00. I haven't used it extensively to say that it will last throughout the years. It's done what I've needed it to do. This will primarily be used only as a hammer drill as I have another Ryobi drill/driver that I'll be using for most jobs. October 21, 2014
