Since this charger is a spare (I also own the Ryobi 6 battery charger/maintainer) I keep this one in our travel trailer for use when camping. It'll charge both Ni-Cad & Li-Ion batteries and does the job quickly. If you only have a cpl batteries this is a good unit; if you have 4 or more batteries (I have 7 Li-Ion & 2 Ni-Cad), then buy the 6 unit charger/maintainer

The charger worked as expected for about 2 years and then suddenly would not charge batteries at all - in fact it started to indicate that all the batteries were themselves defective!! Of course, in order to use the batteries I had to replace the unit, the new one hopefully will last longer.
I would have thought that the the charger would have lasted longer than this given how essential it is to the effectiveness of the tools.

This charger has been good so far. It charges a lithium battery (smaller version) in about 30 minutes and a NiCad in about 45 minutes. Lots of built-in protection for the batteries (i.e. battery is too hot or cold).
Only complaint is that Ryobi should include this charger in all of their lithium tool kits, instead of the cheap version (black, 10 + hour charger)

Recently I have purchased a set of Ryobi cordless tools using One+ Nickel-Cadmium batteries. While very satisfied with quality and performance of the tools, I was very disappointed with the basic charging unit that was bundled with the set. It took too long to charge the batteries and not to mention very limited battery status indication. Therefore, I have decided to purchase P113 dual chemistry charger for One + type batteries keeping in mind that eventually I may switch to Lithium Ion batteries. Two days after placing the order, I was pleasantly surprised to have the charger delivered to my doorstep. The charger dimensions are bigger than I was expected, however it is very light and straightforward to use. On, off, or flashing state of red and green light pair is used indicate battery health and charging progress. It takes less than 45 minutes to charge a fairly well discharged battery. In short, I am very satisfied with this unit, and I would recommend it to anyone with One+ battery based tools.

This One+ 18-Volt 1-Hour Battery Charge worked so well that I asked for the six battery charger for Christmas. A must have if you use a lot of Ryobi tools like I do is the 4X battery, it holds a charge 4X longer and is 20% lighter weight than Ni-Cd batteries. I can cut thru a 8 " log with my Ryobi chain saw and it still has power to go, and the added power it gives the tools is great, more power is better.

Got this with some Ryobi Lithium batteries. This is great. Charges batteries quickly. Have had no issues and is small and lightweight. Great unit.

The 18-VOLT ONE+ DUAL CHEMISTRY INTELLIPORT CHARGER WORKS SO WELL THAT I HAD SOME OLD 18 VOLT NI-CD BATTERIES THAT WOULD NOT CHARGE WITH THE OLD BLACK CHARGER SO I TRIED THEM IN THE NEW ONE AND NOW THERE JUST LIKE NEW. THE OLD ONES 2 EACH WERE 4 YEARS OLD AND 2 WERE 2 YEARS OLD. I'AM VERY PLEASED.

I've owned Ryobi battery-powered tools for nearly a decade, and the real problem has always been the NiCad batteries. When new they perform well, but they age quickly and are about useless in less than a year. I've purchased new tool kits on sale just to get the batteries!
I read some on-line reviews about this charger that suggested that though it was designed to charge the new Li+ batteries, it also got more life from the older NiCads. I can state that this is absolutely true. I've got a collection of old NiCads (some five years old) that I've successfully recharged using this charger. Do they behave like brand-new batteries? No, but the old charger wouldn't even try to put something back into them.
In addition, this charger pumps up the new LI+ battery in a quarter the time the old charger used to take. Overall, this is a great new product.
