These batteries have more power than the black NiCads I've been using for years. I feel like they brought my old Ryobi tools back to life, especially the circular saw and chainsaw. My Ryobi circular saw (older blue model) used to only be useful for cutting thin plywood, and the new batteries easily handle cutting 3/4 plywood and a few 2x4's. I would guess the new batteries last about twice as long as the NiCad battery packs.
Definitely recommend if you can find the two pack of 4Ah batteries... It's a much better value than the single pack most stores keep in stock.

Excellent Product, but the battery is not available in the two pack at the price that is continually fed to me online. It has been out of stock online and in all nearby stores for over a month and I still get the ads. There should be a rain check system or something, if you are going to continually advertise them? Are you hoping I'll just buy them for $99 a piece now that I'm interested or buy the two pack of smaller batteries for $99. You could just ruin our relationship with this continual advertising of a product that isn't available at that price and you probably don't plan to have it again or you would let us order it and wait on it. Now you can say you have some in some store somewhere, you target your ads, you know where I am. Either let me order the batteries that are in these far away stores to be shipped to my store or quit advertising them! The one I bought awhile back at $99 is great and I would like the two pack you continually advertise to me for $99!

I have several Ryobi cordless components. It always seem cost effective to purchase a new set of components rather than batteries separately. This purchase is for the fourth set of replacement batteries. The standard set of batteries have approx 3 year life cycle and you are lucky to get 4.5 years. This battery pack set was run in the store once and seem to go quick. I will see if the performance runs pass the 3 year mark. With the Lithium, the amps provide with a sharp drop is the design feature. I think the technology has overcome the short-to-explosion issues inherent in the lithium battery design and the product life cycle should be good.

I'm using the standard charging base that came with my pack of multiple tools a few years ago. A circular saw, flashlight, impact gun, and drill. Sometimes the base gets stuck in either e testing mode or says the battery is defective. Other times, it charges and stays on the maintain charge setting. However, after removing the battery and checking the charge meter, it shows full charge but immediately drops to 3/4 lights. I'm not sure if this is a problem with the battery or the charger. It is disappointing however. You still can't beat $100 for two high capacity batteries though. So, it's a great value, but I'm having problems with mine. I will be contacting Ryobi to find out what to do soon.

These last a long time. They are my favorite battery to use with any of the saws. They weight about the same as the larger Ni-Cad batteries, but the run time is great, plus the power level stays the same the whole time. The charge gage is a nice feature to see how much power is left before heading out. These also don't lose much if any change in the cold or if you let them set for a month or two. I try to cycle which one I am using now. before it was easy to figure out when the ni-cad would go dead in a short while. I have yet to kill a battery mid project. I like them so much I have 4 of them.
