I've seen plenty of impact driver reviews and vids, trying to decide if I wanted one or not. Never really got the point as to why someone would use one as opposed to just using a drill. Well...now that I own the impact I can see what the scoop is, it's a beast and makes driving screws a real breeze. Love the 1/4" collet, no more loosening chucks. Love the power it has, love the build of it, really fits nice in the hand. Was actually surprised at the power this impact has, I tested it out with a 4" screw into wood with no pilot hole, drove that screw with no problem. Nice that it has a variable-speed trigger, you can really do some nice work with this impact. It's a great tool, has great power, and so far I don't have any complaints. Another great Ryobi tool.

I have all three of Ryobi's impact drivers, the early 1320 inlb-p231, the middle 1500 inlb-p234, and the 1600 inlb-zrp236. The zrp 236 has a little more power, but Ryobi does overstate the inlb capacities of their impacts. I'm a professional garage door installer, and I also do alot of work on automobiles and home projects. The p231 is 3 or 4 years old now, and still going strong, the zrp 236 has really been beat on, and its still going (only had it 3 months or so) I've attached doors to 1/4" steel with self drilling screws (I went through 4 batteries, the p109 in two hours) Anyways, I bought this impact because it was a bundle deal with the super charger. These batteries don't do as much as the lithium plus (battery lasting-wise), but they are great to have. Anyways, yesterday I installed a 16x8 and a 9x8 garage door, both with openers. I put in both doors and openers on one charge of the p122 4.0 Ah. This impact is really efficient, was able to drive 3" long 5/16" lags into the rafters of the garage. Thats 10 3" lags, 210 self drilling 1/4" screws, and 40 1 3/4" lags. This gun put everything in very smoothly. My zrp236 won't do that much on one battery. SO, very efficient, plenty of power for most anything, and at a great price. Just watch for sales and get the p122 batteries.

I was very impressed with the drills looks and feel. It is light weight and the battery life is much better than I thought. The batteries also charge in a relatively short time (under an hour). It very easy to use. Its been a great purchase.

I use the driver for my camper to raise and lower the support legs it seems to do it with ease and has the power I needed. Battery life seems to last along time even with extended use.

No issues with this tool at all so far. Used it for a few months. Excellent battery life, gets the job done. Used it for pocket screw joinery as well as 2x4 framing - plenty of power. The review below that states another well known tool brand that starts with a D has an 18V lithium driver for the same price is completely inaccurate. It is twice the price. The Nicad is comparable price, but that's not a comparable product regardless of the brand. Lithium+ is the way to go;
