Chainsaw works just fine, but leaks oil when stored. I dropped it off at Home Depot tool rental desk for warranty, they sent it out, came back 2 months later and still leaks. I called Ryobi service and tech support...... they tell me oh well you can't store it with more than 1/4 oil in the tank and the tank is pressurized so you have to store it on the side, which renders the carry case useless if you have any oil in the tank. And you won't find either of these instructions in the manual, so not sure how I would have known that. However, even after following these steps, it still leaks. Home Depot guy said it is a known problem with Ryobi gas chainsaws.

Bought this chainsaw about 5 years ago to cut down 2 trees on my property. It quickly developed a problem to where it kept idling real high. That kinda bothered me, but it got the job done.
So, it sat for like almost 4 or 5 years. Then, I started doing work with this guy in a lawn-care & tree-service co. I bring my old Ryobi to the job site, unsure if it would even start. After about 10 minutes, I got it started.
It still runs like new. The idling problem it had has since went away. Just shocked at how well it runs after all this time sitting unused.

This is my second Ryobi chainsaw. First was a cordless electric. I was impressed enough with the cordless that I bought a gas model. It was a little difficult to start the first time, but once it got going, it got going good. Had to tighten the chain after the first hour of use, but that is to be expected. Very happy with it.

I bought this brand new for pretty cheap did its job, i cut all the trees in the yard with it. Now the chain keeps coming loose no matter how hard i tighten the bolts to keep it secure. The little bolt on the side for easy tightening doesn't even work just spins around. I have used ton of different chain saws before my favorite would have to be Makita which home depot rents out at their tool rental.

I have owned this saw for a little over 3 years now. Ive used it about 5 times. It's a pain to get running and once you do get it going it will not idle. The saw is has a 45cc engine yet bogs down on soft pine. Another thing is you can't find replacement chains for it as the model has a odd tooth count. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the headache. Buy a echo, even if you are like me using the saw once and awhile. Stay away at all cost. Contact me and I will give you my ryobi for free!

I just returned my Ryobi saw today. It did start. But after 20 seconds of cutting it would bog down and stop cutting. I repeated this several times. I believe this may be a clutch issue that is common with this saw? I don`t know what is worse. The fact Home Depot sells these or the fact that I bought one? Save your money and buy an orange saw!
