Customer Questions & Answers

Are these quiet enough for use in a camping trailer? And, in parallel do they put out 4000-watts.

Asked by: scooter
In? Really? Not unless you want to die from asphyxiation. In parallel they are rated at 3600W continuous.

Do these come with a 3 prong 30 amp RV plug in

Asked by: Wayne
I don't think RyobiOutdoors understands that this is the combo package with the parallel adapter. Yes, the parallel adapter has two 120v 30A NEMA receptacles, a TT-30R (standard motor home/trailer) and a L5-30R. You can see a better pic of the adapter if you search for 203695188 on homedepot.com

Does the a parallel kit have NEMA L14-20 or L14-30 power outlets?

Thanks, I am considering buying 2 of these and hook them to my transfer switch so I can power circuits in my house. I would need either NEMA L14-20 or L14-30 power outlets Thanks!
Asked by: Justin
Will not work, these are 120V gennies, L14 is 240V.

If you are running two units in parallel can you use a 3 prong 30 amp rv plug.

The previous answer to this question did not answer it directly. I need 3000 watts to run my rv ac.
Asked by: Gwvally
The parallel adapter (203695188) for two of these units has a NEMA TT-30R receptacle Your 3 prong 30A RV plug is a NEMA TT-30P TT= Travel Trailer 30= 30A R= receptacle / P= Plug

We bought these generators to power our camper when we go to non electric sites. The generators worked well, and could not be heard beyond the access road to our site. We have a Catalina 263 and it met our needs. By getting the two generators and running them parallel, I was able to move them myself. (a 66 year old man with a pacemaker) The wheels worked well on pavement, but were ineffective on gravel.

The few bad reviews caused me a little pause before ordering. In the end, the price of these Ryobi generators with the parallel combo kit were literally half the price of the comparable Honda package. I am so glad I went with these. First, they arrived on time and were very easy to get fired up. Simply add the oil that came with them, add gas, and fire them up. Once I fired up the first one, I actually had a chance to compare it to a Honda of similar size (my buddy's) and we literally could not tell the difference in sound between the two. After that I installed the parallel kit and fired up the 2nd generator. I plugged my 30 amp RV plug (no adapter needed) into the kit and started running my A/C unit in my RV. Ran like a charm and I had a cool camper in short order. I've only had these for one 5 day camping trip thus far, so I can't attest to their durability, but if they continue to perform as they did for the first five days straight, they are an excellent buy!

When we had a 4 day power outage at Christmas we borrowed a friends Ryobi generator and it never skipped a beat. When it came time for me to buy a generator to take camping overnight and for backup at our house for the furnace I didn't hesitate and bought the Ryobi. Its quiet, portable and safe for my electronics when I need to take my laptop with me. When I was looking to purchase mine my friend was interested also so we went with the 2 generators and the parallel combo since we usually camp together. Great purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from not satisfied One generator operates great. One to two pulls in fires up all the time. The other seems to flood the carb all the time or something making it impossible to start. I spend 20 minutes trying to start it every time. I have not had time to try to return this one or take it in for service but extremely unsatisfied

The second generator started and ran for 30 to 40 minutes then failed; Intake/Exhaust Valve broke while charging trailer batteries. Not sure if I'll reorder?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Save your money!!! So, let me start with the fact that I read lots of online reviews. I purchased a pair of these! I've taken them out six times camping. On the sixth trip one of them died. The piston came off the crank shaft and totally ruined the motor! Home Depot won't return it, had to send to manufacture service center. 10 weeks to get a replacement. While I was at Home Depot trying to return it, another gentleman returned his with a seized motor too. Although many reviews are good about this product, the bad one are really bad!!! In the owners manual it warns " not for use above 2000 feet of altitude ". Just go buy the Honda! I spent 1200 bucks to learn my lesson, now I have spent another 2000 for the Honda that will probably last my lifetime!
