will it run my microwave in my rv

heard that it wont run a microwave
Asked by: bob1
It will run a microwave. You might have to watch what other items you run at the same time though, so that you don't exceed the max wattage the unit can provide.

How much run time before changing oil?

What about oil changes? How often?
Asked by: Glenn
Most of the answers here are perfect. I like to change the original oil at 10 hours, (a tank at low idle) then because im "that way" I change it every 40 - 50 hours. Viscosity differs with temps as Im in Northern New England, winter temps can be minus 20-30, and summer temps as hot as 80!! So 0-30 in winter and 10W 40 most other times. Penzoil is my choice as I figure at 40 -50 hours.. I wont need a synthetic.

u can invert how much wattage?

Asked by: mrrigsby
The "Inverter " is actually the process that creates the power, its a system of SMPS -switched mode processors that supply a clean sine wave for power by rapidly switching on and off power semi-conductors to convert power with the advantage of being less weight and size and producing less noise as well as heat. . Being an "Inverter" means its a DC to AC power inverter and this one is rated at "2,200 STARTING amps ".

2,200-Watt Green Gasoline Powered Digital Inverter Generator is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 476.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great little generator I got this generator mostly for camping but i also use it for power outages very rarely also use it for tailgates and small party's. The problems i had with it is that the extendable handle and wheels would vibrate really bad but i tightened the screws on the wheels and put a small washer on the back of one of the wheels. I also have a fuel leak whenever i fill it up to the top witch wasn't even the brim so less run time but other than that i have done frequent oil changes because its new. Other than that it starts in 1 to 3 good pulls and runs B A utifly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from off grid living So.I bought this unit as it had the only eco system of the ones in stock at the time. I use almost every ryobi tool there is and have had great luck with all of them. Except the gas weedeater. I have well over 2500 hours on my unit and I still run the factory spark plug and air filters. I am very maintenance savvy and do it when necessary and on schedule. Its not the most powerful unit but it runs my full size fridge.. my lights. Charges all my ryobi batteries for radio and fans. I love it so far... it still runs perfect just like new. I guess I should get it a new spark plug someday....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Serendipity We bought one of these a few weeks ago so I could work during power outages...then Hurricane Matthew came. We took it out of the box and got it ready. The instructions were really easy and it started immediately. We lost power Saturday morning at 11am and ran this thing until Sunday morning at 7am. It powered a small compact refrigerator, 2 large flat screens, 2 Directv receivers, 3 lamps, a laptop, cable modem, wireless router, and charged all of our phones -- at the same time. It didn't even feel like our power was out! We bought several gallons of gasoline, but only needed about 2.5.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok for the price I bought 1st unit at Home Depot and it leaked fuel. Returned and received replacement with good customer service from the store in Carson city. It might have been damaged from shipping, I'm not sure. 2nd unit works fine, starts on one pull. It will run 6-8 hours without refueling and seems very efficient. It is fine for recharging my rv battery but doesn't have much additional capacity. I have a 1500 watt space heater, which it run will run on low settings. The generator is quiet at idle speed but much louder under a load. given the price, it seems like an ok purchase for those like me but I'm doubtful it generate 1800 watts based on testing.

My brother has the Honda EU 2000 and was impressed by the size, weight, SOUND LEVEL, and fuel consumption. But the $1000 sticker shock I could not pull the trigger on one. Even on sale its still too much. I work as a mechanic for a Police agency and one command brought 5 of these Ryobis in for service. It was straight forward. Changing the oil was a little tricky not to make a mess from getting oil on the bottom of the case. The units had several hard hours on it and still purred as if it was brand new. I bought one. The only thing that I noticed is that the pull out handle feels a little flimsy, and wish they had a compartment or pouch that attaches for the screw driver and jumper cables.

After initial setup as per manual, including fresh gas, started and ran great for approx. one hour. Put it away for the night and was a happy camper. Next day went to start and had a tough time getting it to catch and when it finally did ran very rough and stalled a few times. Reviewed the manual to make sure I was not missing something but no. Started again after approx. one hour and ran very rough, RPM was surging and was choking up...eventually stalled multiple times no matter how I adjusted the choke/start lever. I understand I probably got a lemon so returned it for a refund and moved on. I own multiple Ryobi products and have always been happy but this product let me down. As usual Home Depot return policy is the best and the team at Manahawkin,NJ were helpful and professional.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Got us through hurricane Matthew without breaking a sweat. I bought this just days after our near-miss with TS Hermine, and fortunately I had time to set it up and give it a test run before Matthew showed up. Despite the hit to our "emergency fund", we are very glad we bought it, since we would have spent FAR more on gas, hotel, and food to evacuate to our bug-out location. In fact, my wife is so impressed that the day after the storm passed, she heard me telling a neighbor about the parallel kit that allows you to combine the output of two inverter-generators, and she *immediately* said we should get another one. My wife rarely makes comments like that, so I take it as a sign I'm on the right track here - I'll be picking up another one soon. PROs: 1. EXCELLENT fuel usage. Providing power for our Fridge and 4 fans 24/7, 4 lights, phone chargers, radio etc, we averaged about 6 hours run-time per tank. That's only **4 GALLONS PER DAY!** I have neighbors with non-inverter generators were using 10-15 gallons/day to power similar loads. 2. VERY QUIET, even under load. The auto-idle feature slows the engine down to save gas when less power is required. From idle up to a light load of about 25-50%, my son and I had a conversation at normal volume standing right over the generator. Even under FULL load, this is so quiet that my neighbors (typical suburban 1/4 acre lots) didn't know I had a generator running on my patio. With my patio door closed, my neighbor's generator (behind his house, across the street) was louder than my own! 3. EASY to start: My wife, daughter, grand-kids, or even my 80-yr old Mother-In-Law could start this up. 4. SIMPLE Operation: Controls and indicator LEDs are clearly labeled and easy to understand. IF you try to overload this generator, it warns you via a flashing red LED. If you don't remove the excess load after a few seconds, the engine continues running and the inverter simply shuts off the power output and shows a solid red LED. Remove the excess load, press a red "Reset" button, and your power is back up instantly - No engine restart required. 5. "Clean" Power: I found so much conflicting info (and conflicting "expert" opinion) available about the debate over "Clean Power" vs. "Dirty Power" that I decided I could NOT logically consider the issue when deciding on a generator. But, as with all inverter-type generators I have seen, this unit is marketed as producing "clean power" that is not harmful to sensitive electronics. If you have a few months to kill, search for "Clean Power" online and be prepared to read conflicting opinions by more people representing themselves as "electrical engineers" or "power system engineers" than you can probably imagine. CONs: I took one star off the "Quality" and Overall Ratings due to the following. 1. As with pretty much everything these days, this is MADE IN CHINA. Lots of plastic, no "captured" screws on panels you must remove to maintain the engine, etc. 2. CHEAP Extension handle & wheels. The Handle that extends so you can roll this around is so loose, wobbly, and C.H.E.A.P. that the rattling noise it makes with the unit at idle is about 25-30% of the total noise! I briefly considered taking the handle off, but didn't spend the time on it. The wheels are small and work well on paved surfaces only. I would recommend a cart of some kind to take this any distance over an unpaved surface. 3. Lower power output than "Standard" (non-inverter type) generators of the same price. For the price of this unit, I could have bought a "standard" generator capable of producing 3 times more power. The trade-off for inverter-type generators is that you basically pay a higher purchase price in $$/Watt, but you get MUCH lower Fuel consumption (more run-time per tank), MUCH less noise, and generally smaller physical size & weight. 4. The oil reservoir opening is poorly positioned, making filling, draining, and checking the oil level more difficult than necessary. The same is true for access to the spark plug. Neither of these is a show -stopper, but what puzzles me is that in both cases, it seems like a simple change to the shape of the plastic panels covering these areas would make them much easier to access.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hardworking and Reliable I've had my Ryobi for a little over two months now and it has been nothing short of amazing. After a short break in period I run full synthetic oil continuously in the generator and have changed the oil every 100 hours as recomended. During this two month period I've put approximately 100 hours a week on it and it hasn't failed once. I use it on a semi truck to charge the batteries and run a 6000 btu air conditioner. It has been easy on the gas and uses about 10 gallons of gas per 100 hours of use. No regrets on going with the Ryobi.
