Answer:
There is no need for a wiring diagram because there is only one circuit. The short slot is the hot leg, the longer slot is the neutral leg and the round hole is ground.

Answer:
No ! Mine did not have any oil in it at all. Bone dry. There has been comments about the quality control for assembly of these units in the recent past. As an aside, was your unit an "open box" sale ? Regardless of your answer, I suggest you return the unit to the store you purchased from for an exchange.

Answer:
Generators can sometimes have oil left in the engine from testing, if the unit was turned upside down or on its side thats why you are seeing the oil. i would suggest cleaning the filter out and trying it out.

Answer:
No, it's not normal, at least here in the US. If you are elsewhere, like maybe in a tropical area, maybe it was packed that way to avoid corrosion.
If it were me, I'd pull the dip stick and check the oil level.
In any event, if you are leery, by all means take it back.

Answer:
The generator does not come pre filled with oil. Depending on your definition of the amount and it's exact location it's hard to answer. Just swap it for another.

Answer:
You do not mix gas and oil on this unit. oil goes in the engine crankcase, and fuel goes into the fuel tank.

Answer:
Ricky, if you meant 'mixed' ("mused") fuel with oil, then the answer is: NO. You do not mix your fuel with oil, as in for a 2 stroke engine. This generator/inverter has a 4 stroke engine - hence, no mixing of fuel with oil. It has a separate tank for fuel only. The engine oil is contained in the base of the engine. Highly suggest you use a small plastic or metal funnel to add engine oil.

Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 374 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hardworking and Reliable I've had my Ryobi for a little over two months now and it has been nothing short of amazing. After a short break in period I run full synthetic oil continuously in the generator and have changed the oil every 100 hours as recomended. During this two month period I've put approximately 100 hours a week on it and it hasn't failed once. I use it on a semi truck to charge the batteries and run a 6000 btu air conditioner. It has been easy on the gas and uses about 10 gallons of gas per 100 hours of use. No regrets on going with the Ryobi. August 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Generator Great generator for Camping. Quiet was what the campground host said. I was impressed after buying a cheap piece of junk made by Lifan that failed in 2 days. This guy was quiet and ran all day on a tank of gas. Just as good as a honda or Yamaha at almost half the price. I used it for a month straight and it was perfect. Purchase this generator with no fear of trouble. Great Quality better price! July 4, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do Not Buy this product: Ryobi 2,200 Watt inverter generator...... Trying to leave town on a camping trip. Last minute purchase of a lightweight generator. Brought it home, read instructions thoroughly, added gas and oil, checked level, switched off auto idle, put switch in start /cold start position, pulled rope slowly 5 times to prime carb,[ all according to instructions], proceeded to wear myself out by pulling starter rope a few dozen times. No pop, only fuel leaking out of carb overflow tube. a lot of fuel. Do Not waste any valuable time with this product. The good news; No problem getting my money back. September 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by good motor I took this generator to Burning Man, where it worked away through dust storms and very hot weather without complaint. I used about 4 gallons of gas over the week to run the generator about 4 hours a day. Started easily every time. No complaints at all. September 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great little generator have had these two weeks and they are great. Full time RVers and am getting lots of compliments on how quiet they are, now when running in parallel they're a little loud, but not bad. Follow starting instructions and if it doesn't start on first or second pull, put it on run restart, always put idle control off. Change oil frequently when New to flush manufacturing debris . You can get a parallel kit from Wen on Amazon for $52 August 26, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Good-if it will start. I bought this to power a refrigerator on a boat trip. Started it several times prior to leaving with no problems. Ran it 3 hours to the first destination. Upon departure the next day the unit would not stay running. It would start for a second then stop. After 1/2 hour trying it finally stayed running. The next day the same scenario except it took almost 45 minutes to get it running. When operating performance was adequate. When I went to return it to the store after draining the gas, it started on the second pull. Bought a Honda. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Got us through Hurricane Hermine We bought it to run our sump pump in case the power went out during Hermine here in Tallahassee. It also ran our frig the day after. Performed like a champ! September 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exellent Is an exellent equipment, light, low noise and powerfull. September 6, 2016
