will it run my microwave in my rv

Asked by: bob1
It will run a microwave. You might have to watch what other items you run at the same time though, so that you don't exceed the max wattage the unit can provide.

How much run time before changing oil?

What about oil changes? How often?
Asked by: Glenn
Most of the answers here are perfect. I like to change the original oil at 10 hours, (a tank at low idle) then because im "that way" I change it every 40 - 50 hours. Viscosity differs with temps as Im in Northern New England, winter temps can be minus 20-30, and summer temps as hot as 80!! So 0-30 in winter and 10W 40 most other times. Penzoil is my choice as I figure at 40 -50 hours.. I wont need a synthetic.

u can invert how much wattage?

Asked by: mrrigsby
The "Inverter " is actually the process that creates the power, its a system of SMPS -switched mode processors that supply a clean sine wave for power by rapidly switching on and off power semi-conductors to convert power with the advantage of being less weight and size and producing less noise as well as heat. . Being an "Inverter" means its a DC to AC power inverter and this one is rated at "2,200 STARTING amps ".

2,200-Watt Green Gasoline Powered Digital Inverter Generator is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 461.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2200 watt inverter generator On our first camping trip with the new generator, the batteries in our camp trailer went bad. the little generator saved the day, without it we would have had to go home. It worked great, and it is small enough to tuck under the trailer when not in use. It starts easily, and doesn't use much gas, simply plug the camper in and go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good motor I took this generator to Burning Man, where it worked away through dust storms and very hot weather without complaint. I used about 4 gallons of gas over the week to run the generator about 4 hours a day. Started easily every time. No complaints at all.

My brother has the Honda EU 2000 and was impressed by the size, weight, SOUND LEVEL, and fuel consumption. But the $1000 sticker shock I could not pull the trigger on one. Even on sale its still too much. I work as a mechanic for a Police agency and one command brought 5 of these Ryobis in for service. It was straight forward. Changing the oil was a little tricky not to make a mess from getting oil on the bottom of the case. The units had several hard hours on it and still purred as if it was brand new. I bought one. The only thing that I noticed is that the pull out handle feels a little flimsy, and wish they had a compartment or pouch that attaches for the screw driver and jumper cables.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pretty good while it lasts We bought this in the early spring of 2015. It was temperamental to start at times but once you got it going it ran fine. We race off road motorcycles and this was used to power a space heater when it was cold and a fan when it was hot. At the first race of the year in 2016, it quit at 2AM and it was about 32 outside. It has not started since. I have checked the oil level, changed spark plugs, etc. but no luck. We where planning on going with the Honda 2000 when we saw this at Home Depot. I own some other power tools by Ryobi so I trusted the name and at $400 less than the Honda I thought i had found a good deal. We have a Honda 2000 on the way now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product! My girlfriend and I bought this generator for our travel trailer. VERY IMPRESSED with it. We used it on a four day trip and it ran great. The first day it ran 7 hours on Auto Idle mode on one gallon of gas. I was also impressed how easy it was to start. We knew going in to buying it that it would not run the A/C or Microwave because of not enough running watts but powered the Fridge, outlets, radio and lights with no problem. The unit is quiet and light weight. I read a lot of the reviews on here and is one of the reasons we went this way instead of buying the bigger louder ones. Cannot wait to buy the second one and the parallel unit so we could run the A/C for our trip in April. If you are reading these reviews I recommend this generator and you will not go wrong buying it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Got us through hurricane Matthew without breaking a sweat. I bought this just days after our near-miss with TS Hermine, and fortunately I had time to set it up and give it a test run before Matthew showed up. Despite the hit to our "emergency fund", we are very glad we bought it, since we would have spent FAR more on gas, hotel, and food to evacuate to our bug-out location. In fact, my wife is so impressed that the day after the storm passed, she heard me telling a neighbor about the parallel kit that allows you to combine the output of two inverter-generators, and she *immediately* said we should get another one. My wife rarely makes comments like that, so I take it as a sign I'm on the right track here - I'll be picking up another one soon. PROs: 1. EXCELLENT fuel usage. Providing power for our Fridge and 4 fans 24/7, 4 lights, phone chargers, radio etc, we averaged about 6 hours run-time per tank. That's only **4 GALLONS PER DAY!** I have neighbors with non-inverter generators were using 10-15 gallons/day to power similar loads. 2. VERY QUIET, even under load. The auto-idle feature slows the engine down to save gas when less power is required. From idle up to a light load of about 25-50%, my son and I had a conversation at normal volume standing right over the generator. Even under FULL load, this is so quiet that my neighbors (typical suburban 1/4 acre lots) didn't know I had a generator running on my patio. With my patio door closed, my neighbor's generator (behind his house, across the street) was louder than my own! 3. EASY to start: My wife, daughter, grand-kids, or even my 80-yr old Mother-In-Law could start this up. 4. SIMPLE Operation: Controls and indicator LEDs are clearly labeled and easy to understand. IF you try to overload this generator, it warns you via a flashing red LED. If you don't remove the excess load after a few seconds, the engine continues running and the inverter simply shuts off the power output and shows a solid red LED. Remove the excess load, press a red "Reset" button, and your power is back up instantly - No engine restart required. 5. "Clean" Power: I found so much conflicting info (and conflicting "expert" opinion) available about the debate over "Clean Power" vs. "Dirty Power" that I decided I could NOT logically consider the issue when deciding on a generator. But, as with all inverter-type generators I have seen, this unit is marketed as producing "clean power" that is not harmful to sensitive electronics. If you have a few months to kill, search for "Clean Power" online and be prepared to read conflicting opinions by more people representing themselves as "electrical engineers" or "power system engineers" than you can probably imagine. CONs: I took one star off the "Quality" and Overall Ratings due to the following. 1. As with pretty much everything these days, this is MADE IN CHINA. Lots of plastic, no "captured" screws on panels you must remove to maintain the engine, etc. 2. CHEAP Extension handle & wheels. The Handle that extends so you can roll this around is so loose, wobbly, and C.H.E.A.P. that the rattling noise it makes with the unit at idle is about 25-30% of the total noise! I briefly considered taking the handle off, but didn't spend the time on it. The wheels are small and work well on paved surfaces only. I would recommend a cart of some kind to take this any distance over an unpaved surface. 3. Lower power output than "Standard" (non-inverter type) generators of the same price. For the price of this unit, I could have bought a "standard" generator capable of producing 3 times more power. The trade-off for inverter-type generators is that you basically pay a higher purchase price in $$/Watt, but you get MUCH lower Fuel consumption (more run-time per tank), MUCH less noise, and generally smaller physical size & weight. 4. The oil reservoir opening is poorly positioned, making filling, draining, and checking the oil level more difficult than necessary. The same is true for access to the spark plug. Neither of these is a show -stopper, but what puzzles me is that in both cases, it seems like a simple change to the shape of the plastic panels covering these areas would make them much easier to access.

After initial setup as per manual, including fresh gas, started and ran great for approx. one hour. Put it away for the night and was a happy camper. Next day went to start and had a tough time getting it to catch and when it finally did ran very rough and stalled a few times. Reviewed the manual to make sure I was not missing something but no. Started again after approx. one hour and ran very rough, RPM was surging and was choking up...eventually stalled multiple times no matter how I adjusted the choke/start lever. I understand I probably got a lemon so returned it for a refund and moved on. I own multiple Ryobi products and have always been happy but this product let me down. As usual Home Depot return policy is the best and the team at Manahawkin,NJ were helpful and professional.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice unit at a great price! While not as quiet as I would like, it is pretty good (better than my other standard 3000 watt generators) sound wise, but it isn't as quiet as those that cost twice the money. Easy to set up (pour in the oil and off you go), starts easily, and with the connection kit I hook up two and can run my camper!! For just over $1000 I have two inverters and the parallel kit for the camper! The extended handle and wheels (all built in) make it very easy to go over most surfaces (not so much on the lawn, but sidewalk and gravel are easy enough to roll across) just like a suite case. I have and would recommend this unit to my friends!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not bad for the money! I bought two of these to power the AC unit and 120 system on my fifth wheel and they works just fine. I can even power both ACs if they dont kick on at the same time, so they provide the Watts as advertised. I also got a great deal on them, I was reasearching Hondas and others when I was walking through HD one day I saw one of these maked down to $259, so I thought too cheap to pass up and I threw two on the cart. They gave me both for the $259 price! (Still proud of that deal I got!:) They may be a little louder then Hondas, but to me not enough to justify the price difference even at $549. The issue I had/have with both of them is they idle up and down when in auto idle mode and it makes the wheels rattle louder than the generator. I just put a rubber band around pull handle and choke lever to hold the choke in the middle between start and run positions and they idle much smoother, so they are much quieter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very capable machine!! Bought 2 in anticipation of power outage during and after hurricane. Each ran a fridge and a couple of lights or a 65 in TV and DVD for movies. We also charged our phones and iPads on the USB ports. It's quiet enough that our neighbors 2 doors down could not hear it running. Had conversations over both running and didn't have to raise my voice. Powering just a fridge, I topped them off at midnight and went to bed. Got up at 8:45 am and they were still going! Over 8 hours on 1 gallon of gas!! After the storm, my neighbor bought one from me and I'll continue to use the other for camping, sports events(swim meets are LONG) and anything where we need portable quiet power!

I wanted a very quiet generator and this one fits the bill just fine. It started up easily after setting it up on first time use and then ran it again at camp for about about an hour where it ran the lights in camp just fine. The third time I wanted to use it about a month later, it would not start for anything. I pulled the spark plug and it was a mess. I replaced the Chinese OEM spark plug with an NGK equivalent and it started on the first pull. Do your self a favor and buy a high quality replacement spark plug and replace the original before you use it for the first time. If not for that glitch, this is a nice little generator.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Generator Great generator for Camping. Quiet was what the campground host said. I was impressed after buying a cheap piece of junk made by Lifan that failed in 2 days. This guy was quiet and ran all day on a tank of gas. Just as good as a honda or Yamaha at almost half the price. I used it for a month straight and it was perfect. Purchase this generator with no fear of trouble. Great Quality better price!

We used this tailgating the weekend after we got it and could not be happier. It performed exceptional. We ran a TV, Satellite dish, sound bar, fan, crock pot, and multiple phones charging and had no issues at all. It was exceptionally quiet compared to others I have used. You literally can stand with 4-5 feet of it and carry on a conversation. One piece of information when you first get it. Make sure you have a funnel that has a long spout on it when putting in the oil. Where it is located is a little hard to get to with a short spout funnel. I made the mistake of trying to use one and got oil down in the bottom of the casing. Made for some inconvenient clean-up but that was due to my haste and not the product. Just passing that on to help someone else avoid the same mistake.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Tailgating generator experience Purchased this generator/invertor for use at a major college tailgating gathering. Tested the generator at home before the big game - worked great. Got to the tailgate before the game - took 20 minutes to get it started. Second tailgate - 2 people pulling the starter cord for 20 minutes each - finally started. Tested it at home again - wouldn't start after lengthy attempts. Returned unit to Home Depot for repair - missing for 4 weeks - can't get an appropriate answer from my home store. Bought a Honda EU2000 so that I could tailgate. What are your thoughts?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little generator have had these two weeks and they are great. Full time RVers and am getting lots of compliments on how quiet they are, now when running in parallel they're a little loud, but not bad. Follow starting instructions and if it doesn't start on first or second pull, put it on run restart, always put idle control off. Change oil frequently when New to flush manufacturing debris . You can get a parallel kit from Wen on Amazon for $52

The box says "quieter than a conversation" which unless you're 100 feet away is false. It's as loud as your angry stepfather yelling at you after tripping over your toys he told you to put away. Especially under load- it's no quieter than the standard 3500 watt genny I wanted to replace. And it's hard to start, stumbles when doing so, and indicates overload with no load on it. The oil is in a difficult place to add without spilling everywhere, the plastics feel chintzy cheap, and if it's anything like their cordless tools I wouldn't expect it to last. I'm going to get a champion one instead.

One caution I have is that on setup they want you to put gas in it, then slowly pull the starter cord to prime the carburetor. This is before you put in the oil. If it should start up, you have just run it without oil and ruined the engine.

Then had to take it back to the store got a different one. Only used this one four times had the same issue would not start. Also Home Depot will not back up their product they sell. No good not reliable buy a Honda for the money they charge for the Ryobi plus the Honda works and is reliable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality I purchased this generator to use at my house as a back up power supply for the bare minimum if we ever lost power for an extended period of time. When I initially unboxed it, I followed the directions and it started and ran as expected. I use the Honda variant at work daily, they work excellent and start first pull every time. This one took a few pulls to start. Not very concerned about that. What I am concerned about is the fact that 46 days after I purchased this, is it began leaking fuel from one of the lower connections. I took it apart and there is a plastic box tee that the supply fuel and return fuel line connect to. Then, there is a third tee that is hooked up to nothing. I have run this generator 3 times. The first time to break it in per directions. The second time was just to run it. The third was again, just to run it. The third time after running it and letting it sit before putting it away, I came back to find a puddle of fuel under it. I have followed all directions to a tee. I will be returning this, probably with issues especially after the 30-day window. But as far as I am concerned this is a piece of garbage and should not have these issues after less than 60 days.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from OK, but definitely not as quiet as the Honda EU2000 I have 9 other generators that I use for my business, including an ultra-quiet Honda EU2000. I was looking to add another quiet inverter-type generator to my stock and decided to try this Ryobi. On the good side, the wheels and slide-out handle are handy, but the build quality definitely doesn't match the more expensive Honda unit, Lots of loose hardware shakes and rattles add to the noise. The engine generates LOTS more noise than the Honda, both from the exhaust and the engine mechanical noise. In hindsight, I wish I had paid the extra $400 for another Honda generator.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your money! DO NOT buy this unit if you plan on using it on a regular basis. I bought one to use to charge up my RV battery and to run the heater at night. I was temporarily living in my RV during construction of a permanent residence so was using it every night. The first unit I bought lasted about 80 days before running rough and then quitting. HD did an even swap for another one and that lasted about a month before doing the same thing. Took it back and swapped for a third unit. I ran it one night. The second night it would not stay running. I brought it back and got my money back. Went to Lowe's and bought a Generac which I have had no issues with. Another issue I ran into with the Ryobi is the outlets on the unit. The plug converter on my RV would not plug into the generator as the outlets are slightly raised on the unit. I had to cut off half of the insulation on the plug to make it fit. I found the spark plug difficult to get to. It's at an odd angle and a tight place. The dipstick for the oil is also a bit awkward to get to as well. In case you're wondering, I kept up on all maintenance; changed the oil and spark plugs regularly, checked the air cleaner, even went so far as to use non-ethanol gas. Overall I would NEVER recommend this generator and am, in fact, telling friends and family just how bad it is.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Chances are this genny isn't enough for you. I purchased this to power a small camper. Initially everything ran fine. The generator started the AC. Went on a three day camping trip in the mountains. Generator developed an inconsistent idle, I was not using the air-conditioner as it was winter. I did try to use my hairdryer and generator went into overload. Even though this generator is rated higher than the Honda, it does not outperform the Honda. The 2000 Honda that my friends were using powered the hairdryer. Your satisfaction with this product depends on how hard you need it to work, I didn't not expect a hairdryer to trip the system.

I changed oil and put in fresh treated gas. I took a gallon of fresh gas and added stabilizer and ethanol treatment then poured it into the tank. It starts with 3 pulls. I let it warm up for a few minutes then turned on auto idle.I plugged in a small shop vac. No problem. I then plugged in my sawzall while the shop vac was still running. Again, no problem. I then plugged in my air compressor and started and stopped each tool to test the surge capability. Worked well. I have had my eye on this generator for several years and finally made the purchase because I need to vacuum and battery charge my boat located remote on my property. I've read many reviews where folks have complained about the difficulty with removing oil and gas from the generator. The solution to this problem is the purchase of a small hand siphon available at the Home Depot . This works very well with empty coffee cans for collection. I have separate siphons for gas and oil. Fresh oil can be easily added with the use of a long narrow funnel. It takes 13.5 oz. of oil. No tipping of the generator is necessary for either removal. I choose to start and run my generator once or twice a month rather than put it away for storage. I do however treat my gas with stabilizer and ethanol treatment year round. The generator is compact in size. Pleasing to the eye and fairly easy to transport. It has 2 top handles for lifting as well as a extendable handle for pulling. The small wheels only allow pulling on hard , flat surfaces. Very user friendly compared to other generators. The noise level is low. This is due to the auto idle. I believe that this unit will work very well provided you change oil frequently and treat your gas all year long. Don't try to use this generator beyond its intended design and you will be O.K. I 'am looking forward to using this generator during the coming year and will update this review later.

Took it out of the box and there was some oil in the shipping box. So I was a little worried, but found that the oil dip plug was loose and had a little oil around it. I put the oil that came with it in the generator. I pulled the cord about three times very slow and then pulled once to crank. It fired up and ran great. I plugged in a Hilti ST1800 screw gun and it didn't even idle up any. I have only fired it up three or four times just to see how it will crank after sitting for a week or so and it cranks on first or second pull. So far I am happy with my purchase. Hilti
